Where Revival Starts Series

Summary: King Hezekiah's powerful actions point us to where revival starts.
Where Revival Starts:
- v. 2 – Hezekiah did what was right.
- As we discussed last week, his father Ahaz was a terrible king.
- Revival cannot be scheduled. It’s when God moves.
1. It starts with God’s house.
- We so often look at the world and complain at their sinfulness. But things need to start with the church. The world is just acting the way they’re supposed to act (sinful).
2. It starts with one person standing alone.
- Then others follow him: vv. 11-12.
- Unpack the idea of God’s anger toward God’s people in v. 10.
3. Cleansing God’s house isn’t easy.
4. They came back to the sacrificial blood.
- Coming back to the centerpiece of our faith.
5. They brought forth the deserved praise.
- It strikes me how this was commanded and expected.
- It’s also true to say that it burst forth freely from them, but the first point is more interesting to me.
6. Revival can turn things around quickly.
- This balances point 3 earlier. Yes, there is great work to do, but on the other hand there can be dramatic change over a relatively short period of time when revival happens.
