Where is Sarah?
Genesis 18:9”Then they said to him, "Where is Sarah your wife?" And he said, "There, in the tent."
God would not ignore you, reject you, overlook you, disregard you or bypass you, anybody listening to me, you need this word today. God is concerned about you! He knows how you feel, the world is busy looking at your exterior looks, smile and glamour but God looks at your heart. He knows the angst, pain, anxiety …..everything ….we cannot hide and escape from those watchful, observant and sharp gaze. Can we? No way…
God and the angels very well knew that Sarah was in the tent, but they ALSO wanted Sarah to hear what God was about to say to Abraham, God had come again to reiterate His Promise made to Abraham. God had already talked about Sarah, read: Genesis 17: 16 "I will bless her, and indeed I will give you a son by her. Then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her." However, Sarah didn’t seem to get it, but God was not going to reject her, He came back again so that they could hear and believe. God made sure that Sarah heard it, her name was called, she was also in the plan of God and without her Isaac would not come. The unity of husband and wife is predominant in the blessing of a home, are you listening? Husband and wife attending different churches, praying separately is not the plan of God at all, if you are doing that, today you need to change.
God would speak until you hear and understand, because eventually Sarah believed God and we read about it in Hebrews 11:11”By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised.”
God would try various strategies to make you hear His voice, I want to share an incident here; my uncle was a hard-hearted atheist. He refused to hear me or believe my testimony, one day he visited my house, I was just wondering how to share the Gospel with him. While I was making coffee for him, I switched on the TV to a Gospel channel, just then a powerful preacher was preaching, I was happy, there was no escape for him but to listen.
God made Gideon hear the dream about him, read:
Judges 7:
9 Now the same night it came about that the LORD said to him, "Arise, go down against the camp, for I have given it into your hands.
10 "But if you are afraid to go down, go with Purah your servant down to the camp,
11 and you will hear what they say; and afterward your hands will be strengthened that you may go down against the camp." So he went with Purah his servant down to the outposts of the army that was in the camp.
12 Now the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the sons of the east were lying in the valley as numerous as locusts; and their camels were without number, as numerous as the sand on the seashore.
13 When Gideon came, behold, a man was relating a dream to his friend. And he said, "Behold, I had a dream; a loaf of barley bread was tumbling into the camp of Midian, and it came to the tent and struck it so that it fell, and turned it upside down so that the tent lay flat."
14 His friend replied, "This is nothing less than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has given Midian and all the camp into his hand."
15 When Gideon heard the account of the dream and its interpretation, he bowed in worship. He returned to the camp of Israel and said, "Arise, for the LORD has given the camp of Midian into your hands."
Gideon had to face a huge army of 135,000 Midianites! But told Gideon 300 men are enough! In other words He said: ‘I’m enough!’ This is for someone out there who is griping “I don’t have this and I don’t have that!” Now listen, God knew that Gideon was scared on the inside! Look what He does, He told Gideon to go down to the outposts of the armed men who were in the Midian camp in the night and there Gideon would hear them speak and he would be strengthened. When Gideon arrived at the spot, the army lay along the valley like locusts in abundance, and their camels were without number, as the sand that is on the seashore in abundance! Imagine! The sight of the huge army was enough to unnerve a person; just when Gideon eyes widened, God opened his ears to listen to a man speak of his dream. The man said that he saw a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian and came to the tent and struck it so that it fell and turned it upside down; his comrade answered: "This is no other than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has given into his hand Midian and all the camp." Wow! Observe the words, “God has given into his hand!” Gideon felt energized and rejuvenated, he worshiped God and said to the camp of Israel the same words that God told him, "Arise, for the LORD has given the host of Midian into your hand."
