Summary: What will it take for an unbelieving world to turn to God?

When will it be your Then?

Zechariah 13:8- 14:3

"Unbelief puts our circumstance between us and God, but faith puts God

between us and our circumstances." F.B. Meyer

(Then) An adverb that according to Dic.com means at that time:

1. When Israel cry’s out to God

Zech 13:9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will

refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold

is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them:

I will say, It [is] my people: and they shall say, The

LORD [is] my God.

Ps 57:2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth

[all things] for me.:3 He shall send from heaven, and

save me [from] the reproach of him that would

swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy

and his truth.

2 When half of Jerusalem has fallen and it looks like the other half is about to

Zech 13:8 And it shall come to pass, [that] in all the land, saith the

LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off [and] die; but

the third shall be left therein.

Zech 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle;

and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the

women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into

captivity,

3. When the remaining Jews expect to be killed

Ps 18: 3 I will call upon the LORD, [who is worthy] to be praised:

so shall I be saved from mine enemies. 4 The sorrows of

death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made

me afraid.2 5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about:

the snares of death prevented me. 6 In my distress I called

upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice

out of his temple, and my cry came before him, [even] into

his ears. 7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations

also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his

mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. 9 He bowed the

heavens also, and came down: and darkness [was] under his feet.

4. When it looks like God’s promises are about to fold up

Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie,

promised before the world began;

2Cor 1:20 For all the promises of God in him [are] yea, and in him

Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without

wavering; for he is faithful that promised;

Ps 23

5. When it looks like the anti-christ is about to win which will make

Satan the ruler of this world.

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake

of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet [are],

and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

"Faith enables us to understand what God does.

Faith enables us to see what others cannot see.

As a result, faith enables us to do what others cannot do."

Warren Wiersbe

William Bathurst once said,

“O for a faith that will not shrink, Tho pressed by every foe,

That will not tremble on the brink, Of any earthly woe!

That will not murmur nor complain, Beneath the chastening rod,

But, in the hour of grief or pain, Will lean upon its God;

A faith that shines more bright and clear, When tempests rage without

That when in danger knows no fear, In darkness feels no doubt.

Near Death, Missionary Allen Gardiner Overwhelmed by God’s Goodness

One of God’s faithful missionaries, Allen Gardiner, experienced many

physical difficulties and hardships throughout his service to the Savior.

Despite his troubles, he said, “While God gives me strength, failure will

not daunt me.”

In 1851, at the age of 57, he died of disease and starvation while serving

on Picton Island at the southern tip of South America. When his body

was found, his diary lay nearby. It bore the record of hunger, thirst,

wounds, and loneliness. The last entry in his little book showed the

struggle of his shaking hand as he tried to write legibly. It read, “I am

overwhelmed with a sense of the goodness of God.”
