Sermons

Summary: True godly love is demonstrated by caring action. This sermon list several ways that we can testify to that kind of love.

When We Care

Matthew 25:31-40

I. When we care we are aware…

A. Of our need of Christ and our constant dependence on

Him

B. Of the needs of others

C. Of Christ’s coming

1. We don’t have forever

2. We will give an account someday

II. When we care we prepare

A. We count the cost

B. We ask: “Am I doing my best?” “Am I giving my all?”

C. We ask ourselves, “Am I doing what I can?” Each

must give in his own way the best that he has.

III. When we care we will repair

A. Hearts of humanity

B. Broken relationships in our church and families

C. God’s facilities (the church---it is not ours, but His)

IV. When we care we share

A. By doing, telling, and giving

B. Illus.: The Good Samaritan

V. When we care we dare

A. To step out in faith

B. To risk

C. To stand alone if necessary

VI. When we care we are people of prayer

A. D.L. Moody declared, “Every great movement of God

can be traced to a kneeling figure.”

B. Isaiah 62:6 says, “Therefore, you that make mention of the

Lord, keep not silent.”

C. Nothing costs more than caring---except not caring

D. We care because He cared---and showed how

E. Our lives are God’s gift to us: what we do with them

is our gift to God

Someone has rightly said, “I am only one, but I am one.

I cannot do everything, but I can do something. That which

I can do, I ought to do, and by the grace of God I will do!”
