WHEN THERE IS DELAY, WHERE IS GOD?

Pray these Prayers First:

• Every power reinforcing frustration in my life be arrested now in Jesus name.

• You fountain of disappointment in my life dry up now in Jesus name.

• Every filled-up vessel of redundancy in my life shatter now by fire in Jesus name.

• Foundations of despair afflicting my life be destroyed in Jesus name.

• I refuse to climb up the mountain of hardship in Jesus name.

• I reject the baptism of failure in Jesus name.

• Every spirit of depression and despair threatening to overwhelm me be cast down in Jesus name

• Every arrow of delay fired into any area of my life come out by force in Jesus name.

"By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude--innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore" (Hebrews 11:11-12).

I have a dog Missy (female german shepherd) who had been with me for 2 years. She has a male companion Jackie. For 2 years Missy who was of child bearing age didn’t give birth.

Well, on a Monday morning, I decided I had had enough of feeding a barren dog, so I called one of my aides and asked him to take her to the vet as I didn’t want her anymore.

That same day a sister who waited on the Lord 17 years to have her set of twins, came looking for me. She said she didn’t know why but the Lord had been dealing with her to come and look for me. While we were pondering on why this could be, my aide came in joyously and revealed that the dog we were about to give away had just given birth to 5 puppies!

Well, you can conclude why God wanted the sister to see me.

Have you ever been frustrated with God? Have you met other people who were?

Have you waited and waited for that thing to happen and it still hasn’t. That husband still hasn’t appeared to ask your hand in marriage, the baby has refused to show up. The promises of help, the job, the business breakthrough are not manifesting physically?

Does it look to you that even Jesus looks to you like He is being delayed from coming?

We get frustrated when there are delays. We take actions and make utterances and make choices that reinforce our frustration. So why doesn’t God answer. Where is He exactly at that time?

The answer? God is always on His throne. He never bothers to leave it. {Rev 4}. Even when He Does, He seldom decides of Himself to abdicate personally. He always sends someone or something to get the job done.

So if its not God who or what is the cause of the delay? The Devil, Or Us. Simplicita!

I. We are sometimes frustrated with God when we feel that God has not kept His promises to us. Why?

Sometimes people have been upset because they have taken a promise for themselves that God never made to them. We decide this is what WE want, believe God will do it but we never really ask Him, Lord, is that your plan for me in that situation?

Someone who has bothered to count them has said that there are over 3,000 promises in the Bible. That may be true, but they aren’t all made to us personally. Oh, we can believe God for them, but are they according to the vision He planned for us individually?

In the bible, the vision He had for Solomon was to build Him a temple. As much as David wanted to do that and as much as he served God, if he memorised all the promises in the bible and willed it, he couldn’t succeed at it because it just wasn’t God’s will for Him

II. We are sometimes upset because God hasn’t kept His promise right away.

God fulfils His promises in his own time.

God’s promise to Noah that there would be a great flood took over a century to fulfil.

Some of God’s promises to Abraham were not fulfilled in his lifetime.

Abraham was promised the land of Canaan, but when he died, he only had a plot of ground in which to bury his wife.

Abraham was promised that he would father a great nation. He had a son who was born when he was 100 years of age and two grandsons were born when he was 140.

So, Sometimes our frustration comes out of waiting for God to work in His time. He is there, just waiting to work in His own time.
