When The Anointed Go Forth
Pastor Ken Crow
1 Chronicles 14:8-17 (King James Version)
8And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.
9And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
10And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.
11So they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim.
12And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
13And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.
14Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
15And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
16David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
17And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
1. Verse 8: 8And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king
The enemy is not afraid of mediocrity. It is when we come under the anointing of the Holy Ghost that strikes the fear in him.
It is when we begin to speak the name of Jesus over our family that causes him to shake and shudder. It is when we go to our jobs and live out a life of godliness before our coworkers that gets his attention. It is when we have the anointing to pray around a flag pole or over our meal in a crowded restaurant that puts him in a rage!
If we look at the sick and say I hope you get to feeling better he don’t mind.
He don’t care if the church sends a get well card! But boy when we send a prayer cloth or anoint them with oil!
David had been anointed and the Philistines didn’t like it!
2. , all the Philistines went up to seek David.
The Philistines sent everything they had! All their weapons of war against David.
They had watched David defeat Goliath.
When we claim the blood of Jesus and get anointed every demon in hell gets nervous.
They seen what Jesus done on the cross. They seen Satan defeated.
When we get anointed they know we are about to get on their territory!
We are going to do something for the Glory of God and satan tries to send everything he can against us!
3.9And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
and the Philistines took up their position in the valley of Rephaim, on the west and south-west of Jerusalem. Thus all communication between Bethlehem and Jerusalem was intercepted. While David and his army were encamped here.
The first thing the enemy will try is to cut off our communication with God.
Because he knows when the anointed pray and call out to God he is in trouble!
Great and mighty things happen when the anointed pray!
People are healed when the anointed pray!
Addictions and bindings are broken when the anointed reach the throne room of God by prayer!
When the anointed call out to God families are restored, people are saved, lives are changed, mountains move, trees get up and cast themselves into the sea,,,,oh when the anointed pray!
David was still in communication with the one that mattered. An anointed person is always in contact with Jesus!
4. Look where David was.
11So they came up to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim.
Baalperazim: The place of breakthrough . The enemy does not want you At Baalperazim! The enemy will come at you or me the hardest when we are at our Baalperazim!
If the devil can’t cut off our communication with God he will attempt to ambush us right at our breakthrough point.
If all the enemy is coming against you this morning despite all you are doing for God then friend your at your breakthrough point.
