WHEN JESUS DON’T COME

Text: John 11:1-15

1. THEY NEVER ASKED JESUS TO COME.

A) May be they did not think it was that bad.

** Why is it we come to church and think we got to pit up a front?

HOW ARE YOU TODAY?- JUST FINE BUT ALL THE TIME WE ARE DYING INSIDE.

B) Jesus was going to go but they did not know that.

** May be they told Lazarus just hold on we sent for Jesus.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN HE DON’T COME?

** It hard to defend Jesus.

Joh 11:6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.

Joh 11:15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

He did not have to come he could speak the word.

He could have sent angels.

He could have sent Peter, James or John or even Bartholomew.

C) We all have heard people testify about how Jesus shows up right on time.

** Don’t always tell me about how you got the check in the mail right before they cut off your lights.

TELL ME WHAT TO DO WHEN THEY CUT OFF YOUR LIGHTS.

** Don’t always tell me about when you did not have food and somebody brought some.

TELL ME WHAT TO DO WHEN ALL THE FOOD IS GONE AND I STILL TRUST JESUS.

YOU SAY PREACHER JESUS ALWAYS SHOWS UP, TELL THAT TO MARTHA AND MARY.

** Tell me how to deal with the death of a loved one that you prayed for God to heal.

**WE NEED TO BE REAL SOME TIMES AND LET PEOPLE KNOW THAT GOD DON’T ALWAYS WORK LIKE WE WANT.

2. WHEN JESUS GETS THEIR HE IS DEAD.

A) Martha comes to him first.

John 11

20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.

21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

** It never said she was weeping.

** I think she was upset at Jesus. SHE QUESTIONED HIM

NOT THAT HE WAS LORD BUT WHY– HOW MANY KNOWS ABOUT THIS

B) Martha goes and gets Mary.

Joh 11:28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.

AS SOON AS MARY GOT TO JESUS WHAT DID SHE DO?

Joh 11:32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. 33 ¶ When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,

SHE WAS WEEPING BROKEN HEARTED.

JESUS KNOWS EVERYTHING WE GO THROUGH.

1. She fell at his feet- she worshiped him.

SHE WAS USE TO WORSHIPING.

Luke 10

38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

ONE WANTED ACTION MARTHA WAS USE TO WORKING IT OUT.

MARY WAS USE TO WORSHIPING AND WHEN SHE WAS IN TROUBLE SHE STILL WORSHIPED.

** Any Body can praise God.

** Praise is what most people do when they testify.

Ps 150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
