When God Turns A Little Into Alot At The University Of Dry Barrell

1 Kings 17:8-16 (KJV)

8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

THE WORD OF GOD FOR THE CHILDREN OF GOD

WHEN GOD TURNS A LITTLE INTO ALOT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DRY BARRELL

MY BROTHERS AND MY SISTERS

IN THE TEXT BEFORE US ELIJAH THE PROPHET HAS JUST GRADUATED FROM DRY BROOK UNIVERSITY

WHERE GOD HAD BEEN NOURISHING HIM.

BY ALLOWING ELIJAH TO BE THE FRIST ; AND SUPPILIED HIM DRINKING WATER FROM THE BROOK

BUT THE TEXT INFORMS US THAT . THE BROOK DRIES UP BECAUSE THERE HAD BEEN NO RAIN IN THE LAND,

AND HOW GOD COMMANDS HIM TO GO TO ZAREPHATH, AND ENROLL IN THE UNIVERSITY OF DRY BARRELL

WHERE HE WILL MEET A WIDOW WHO WILL PROVIDE FOR HIS NEEDS.

AND IT`S IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND

THAT THIS TEXT IS TAILORED TO TEACH US

THAT WHEN ONE DOOR CLOSES,THAT WE SERVE A GOD WHO CAN AND WILL OPEN ANOTHER DOOR.

YOU SEE MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS

WHEN ELIJAH ENROLLS IN THE UNIVERSITY OF DRY BARRELL

HE MEETS A WIDOW WOMAN AND REQUESTS THAT SHE BRINGS HIM A DRINK OF WATER, AND MAKE HIM A LITTLE CAKE.

THE WOMAN RESPONDS BY SAYING

THAT SHE ONLY HAS ENOUGH MEAL AND OIL FOR HERSELF AND HER SON TO EAT .

BUT ELIJAH SHARES WITH HER THAT IF SHE WOULD TAKE CARE OF HIM,

GOD WOULD TAKE CARE OF HER. AND ALL SHE HAD TO DO WAS OBEY.

WELL NOT ONLY DOES GOD OPEN DOORS WHEN WE ARE FAITHFUL AND OBEDIENCE

BUT THE TEXT IS ALSO TAILORED TO TEACH US DON`T GIVE UP ON GOD

FOR SHE TELL ELIJAH THAT SHE ONLY HAD ENOUGH FOOD FOR HERSELF AND HER SON TO EAT

AND AFTER THAT THEY WAS GOING TO PREPARE TO DIE

IN OTHER WORDS SHE HAD GAVE UP ON LIFE

AND YOU DO KNOW WHEN YOU GIVE UP ON LIFE YOU GIVING UP ON GOD

BECAUSE GOD IS THE SUSTAINER AND GIVER OF LIFE

AND THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS WE SHOULD NEVER GIVE UP ON GOD

IN OTHER WORDS

WE SHOULD NEVER PUT A PERIOD WHERE GOD HAS PUT A COMMA

BECAUSE WHEN WE ARE UP TO NOTHING

GOD IS ALWAYS UP TO SOMETHING

EVEN THOUGH HER SITUATION WAS LOOKING BAD

EVEN THOUGH HER SITUATION LOOKED HOPELESS

EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS AT THE POINT OF GIVING UP

BUT WHEN WE ARE AT OUR WORST GOD IS AT HIS BEST

AND HE HAS AWAY OF SHOWING UP AND SUSTAINING US IN THE MIDIST OF LIFE MOST MISERABLE MOMENTS

YOU SEE IT`S SOMEBODY HERE THIS MORNING /EVENING

AND YOUR A STUDENT AT DRY BARRELL UNIVERSITY

AND YOUR SITUATION LOOKS DARK ,DREARY AND GLOOMY

AND THE DELIMMAS OF LIFE SEEMS TO BE GETTING THE BEST OF YOU

BUT I STOP BY THIS MORNING /EVENING TO ENCOURAGE YOU DON`T GIVE UP ON GOD
