Summary: : God is working when we cannot see it. We are never out of reach of God’s purposes and plan.

I. God uses those who prove themselves obedient. (vs. 5; 26; 40)

A. The first thing any Christian should be obedient to is the preaching of the gospel.

B. In verse 5 Philip moves, having been scattered, to preach the gospel “as he goes”.

C. In verse 26 having been obedient to Christ, is used by God directly to deal with the Ethiopian.

D. Philip moved quickly and without hesitation. (v.30)

E. In verse 40 he continues to be faithful.

F. He traveled with the intent to preach Jesus.

G. Have you ever gone somewhere so you can preach Jesus?

II. God works in the lives of both believers and unbelievers.

A. God worked in Josephs’ life.

B. God worked in Moses’ life.

C. God worked in David’s’ life.

D. Now we see God working in unbelievers’ lives.

E. The eunuch’s heart was ready to receive the gospel.

III. Seeing God work in the lives of others brings joy. (vs. 8; 39)

A. Our salvation should bring us joy.

B. It is also true, and always has, that we need to see reminders of God’s power to help us remember why we should be joyful.

C. We need to practice obedient service to God.

D. We need to practice sacrificial service to God.

E. We need to practice consistent service to God.

F. Blessings of God always require some amount of preparation.
