WHEN GOD BREAKS PROTOCOLS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Esther 6:1-10

Supporting Texts: 1 Samuel 2:7–8, Psalm 75:6-7, Isaiah 43:19, Luke 1:52

INTRODUCTION:

There are moments in life when human rules, systems, and limitations appear to define the outcome of situations. In such seasons, it seems that the door is permanently shut, favour is denied, and the verdict is already sealed. But there is a God in heaven who can bypass every earthly restriction and break protocols to bless His people.

In the story of Esther, we see a divine interruption in the normal flow of palace proceedings. The king could not sleep—not because of restlessness, but because heaven had decided to honour a forgotten man. When God steps in, He overrides order, shifts positions, and causes the least expected to rise.

God does not need permission from man to lift you. He can suspend rules, ignore rank, and change laws for the sake of His covenant children. This sermon explores how God breaks protocols to fulfil His purpose and honour those He has chosen.

1. GOD CAN INTERRUPT THE NATURAL ORDER FOR YOUR SAKE

When God wants to favour you, He can suspend normalcy and create divine interruptions.

a) The King’s Sleep Was Taken Away (Esther 6:1)

God disrupted the king’s sleep to initiate Mordecai’s promotion.

b) Heaven Has a Record of Your Labour (Hebrews 6:10)

Though Mordecai was forgotten, his good deed was recorded in heaven and recalled at the right time.

c) Delay Is Not Denial (Galatians 6:9)

Sometimes your reward is delayed, but God is never too late.

d) God Can Stir the Hearts of Kings (Proverbs 21:1)

The heart of the king is in God’s hand. He can direct it in your favour.

Biblical Example: Joseph was elevated from the prison to the palace by divine intervention that disrupted natural succession (Genesis 41:14-44).

2. DIVINE FAVOUR BREAKS EARTHLY RANKS AND SYSTEMS

Favour is not fair—it’s supernatural and overrides qualifications and connections.

a) Mordecai Was Honoured Instead of Haman (Esther 6:6-10)

The enemy was expecting honour, but God redirected it to the righteous.

b) God Promotes the Humble (1 Peter 5:6)

Mordecai was not seeking honour, but heaven orchestrated it for him.

c) Position Does Not Intimidate God (Isaiah 40:22–23)

God can remove the mighty and lift the lowly.

d) Divine Favour Is a Game-Changer (Psalm 102:13)

One moment of divine favour is better than years of human labour.

Biblical Example: David was anointed king while Saul was still ruling—God broke the protocol of dynasty and human succession (1 Samuel 16:1–13).

3. GOD HONOURS FAITHFULNESS AND LOYALTY

He may seem silent for a while, but He never forgets His own.

a) Mordecai Saved the King Without Asking for a Reward (Esther 2:21–23)

Faithfulness is doing the right thing even when no one rewards you.

b) God Rewards the Diligent (Hebrews 11:6)

He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him and serve others.

c) Your Honour May Be Delayed, but It Is Certain (Psalm 31:19–20)

There is a reward stored up for the faithful in the secret place.

d) Heaven’s Timing Is Always Perfect (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

When the time is right, God will honour you in public.

Biblical Example: Ruth’s loyalty to Naomi positioned her for favour and divine elevation (Ruth 2:11–12; 4:13–17).

4. GOD USES THE ENEMY TO ANNOUNCE YOUR LIFTING

The same people who tried to block you may be used by God to recommend and promote you.

a) Haman Was Forced to Honour Mordecai (Esther 6:10)

God turned the plot around and humiliated the enemy.

b) God Prepares a Table Before You in Their Presence (Psalm 23:5)

Your honour will not be hidden—it will be in the face of your enemies.

c) Your Season of Divine Reversal Is Here (Joel 2:25–26)

Whatever the enemy meant for evil, God is reversing it.

d) God Turns Mockery Into Glory (Zephaniah 3:19–20)

He gathers the outcasts and gives them a name and praise.

Biblical Example: Pharaoh had to acknowledge the power of God through Moses and release Israel (Exodus 12:31–32).

CONCLUSION:

When God breaks protocols, limitations no longer matter. He can suspend laws, reverse orders, and interrupt systems just to fulfil His word in your life. Like Mordecai, you may have been forgotten, overlooked, or even despised—but your time of remembrance is here. Don’t stop being faithful. Don’t stop doing good. God is working behind the scenes, and when He steps in, no man can stand against it.

In the season of divine intervention, things happen quickly, unexpectedly, and gloriously. This is your season of divine protocol-breaking encounters. Heaven is about to honour you in ways you never imagined. Get ready—God is rewriting your story.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, interrupt every natural order to bring about my lifting.

2. Lord, let my book of remembrance be opened in this season.
