Summary: GOD WILL BREAK INTO YOUR SITUATION WHEN YOU SING AND PRAISE

WHEN GOD BREAKS IN!

ACTS 16:16-30

1. IT WAS A BAD SITUATION

A) IN JAIL FOR

**HELPING A LITTLE GIRL

**FOR PREACHING THE WORD OF GOD

**THEY WERE BEAT WITH MANY STRIPES

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN DOING GOOD AND THE DEVIL JUMP ON YOU?

JESUS WAS TEACHING HIS DISCIPLES AND HE STOPS AND SAYS...

Luke 22:31-32 KJV 31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

SATAN ALWAYS PICKS THE TIME AND PLACE YOU AND I DON’T HAVE THAT RIGHT.

IT WAS NOT THEIR FAULT THEY WERE TRYING TO BE A BLESSING AND DO GOD WORK.

2. YOU KNOW THEY HAD TO GET A LITTLE DISCOURAGED.

Ac 16:23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

THEY WERE BEAT

CAST IN PRISON

THRUST INTO THE VERY LOWEST PART OF THE JAIL

CHAINED DOWN IN THE STOCKS

NOW DON’T THAT JUST MAKE YOU WANT TO SHOUT!

NO- PAUL AND SILAS WERE GREAT MEN OF GOD BUT THEY WERE MEN

JOHN WAS THE GREATEST THAT EVERY LIVED BUT HE STILL QUESTIONED JESUS.

YOU KNOW THEY GOT DOWN!

I CAN HEAR THEM SAY “GOD WHERE ARE YOU”?

MARY AND MARTHA QUESTIONED JESUS “LORD IF”

WE ALL GET DOWN AT SOME POINT BUT WE CANT STAY DOWN.

3. BUT THEY PRAYED.(25)

Psalms 91:14-16 KJV 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Pr 15:29 ¶ The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Mt 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

IN THE HARD TIMES THEY PRAYED

IN THE JAIL THEY PRAYED

WE MUST REALIZE WITH OUT PRAYER WE WILL NOT MAKE IT.

**GOD HAS ALREADY SAID ALL HE IS GOING TO SAY TO US THROUGH HIS WORD, NOW IT IS OUR TURN TO TALK TO HIM!

We are not told that Jesus ever taught His disciple how to preach, but He taught them how to pray. He wanted them to have power with God; then He knew they would have power with man. - D.L. Moody

4.NOT ONLY DID THEY PRAY THEY SANG AND PRAISE GOD.(25)

I WONDER IF ONE SAID I DON’T FEEL LIKE SINGING?

THE OTHER SAID BUT IF WE ARE GOING TO PRAY WE MUST SING HIS PRAISE.

MAY BE SILAS SAID I WILL START- THE LORD IS MY SHEPARD

**YOU REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE LOST AND KILLING CHRISTIANS- THE LORD IS MY SHEPARD

**REMEMBER WHEN THEY STONED YOU- THE LORD IS MY SHEPARD

HOW MANY REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE LOST- THE LORD IS MY SHEPARD

SICK-, ALMOST DEAD, ALMOST LOST IT ALL - THE LORD IS MY SHEPARD.

5. THEN GOD BROKE IN THE JAIL(26)

YOU SAY GOD DID NOT BREAK IN- THEY DID NOT BREAK OUT

NO ONE LEFT THE JAIL THAT NIGHT

Ps 22:3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

INHABITEST- yashab, yaw-shab
