INTRODUCTION:
The phrase “Let God arise” is a powerful cry for divine intervention. Throughout Scripture, when God arises, His enemies scatter, chains are broken, and impossible situations are turned around. God’s arising is not a passive act—it is a forceful move of His power, justice, and mercy on behalf of His people. The Psalmist understood the significance of this, and thus called for God to arise in moments of distress, battle, and oppression.
In today’s world, we face battles in different forms—spiritual, emotional, financial, or relational. But we are not left without hope. When God arises in our lives, situations must respond. No enemy can stand, no barrier can remain intact, and no opposition can prosper. God arises not just to fight, but to establish His will, restore His people, and bring glory to His name.
This message is a call to awaken our faith in the power of divine intervention. It reminds us that God is never asleep or unaware. He is mighty to save, and when He arises, everything changes.
1. GOD ARISES TO SCATTER ENEMIES
a) God does not ignore the plans of the wicked (Psalm 68:1):
When God arises, every enemy working against His people is disarmed and dispersed.
b) His presence terrifies the adversary (Psalm 114:7):
The very presence of God causes the earth to tremble and satanic powers to flee.
c) God defends His people with power (Isaiah 42:13):
Like a mighty warrior, He stirs up His zeal and shouts over His enemies.
d) No weapon formed against the righteous can succeed (Isaiah 54:17):
God ensures that those who rise against His own will be put to shame.
Biblical Example: When Pharaoh pursued Israel at the Red Sea, God arose and drowned their enemies (Exodus 14:26-28).
2. GOD ARISES TO DEFEND THE RIGHTEOUS
a) God is a refuge in the day of trouble (Nahum 1:7):
He shields those who trust in Him and fights their unseen battles.
b) The Lord is our Advocate (Psalm 35:1):
He pleads our cause and stands in our defence against false accusations and attacks.
c) God intervenes for the helpless and oppressed (Psalm 12:5):
He arises when the cry of the afflicted reaches His throne.
d) The Lord turns battles in our favour (2 Chronicles 20:17):
You will not need to fight, for God arises to deliver you.
Biblical Example: God arose to deliver Peter from prison when the church prayed (Acts 12:5-11).
3. GOD ARISES TO TURN THE TIDE OF BATTLE
a) The enemy may seem strong, but God is stronger (Psalm 24:8):
He is the King of glory, mighty in battle.
b) Divine intervention brings sudden turnaround (2 Kings 7:1-2):
When God steps in, long-standing problems dissolve instantly.
c) God's timing is perfect in warfare (Ecclesiastes 3:11):
He knows the best moment to arise and silence your storm.
d) Victory is assured when God arises (Romans 8:31):
If God is for us, who can be against us?
Biblical Example: When God arose in the time of Deborah and Barak, Sisera and his army were completely destroyed (Judges 5:19-21).
4. GOD ARISES TO ESTABLISH HIS PURPOSE
a) God moves to fulfil His Word (Jeremiah 1:12):
He watches over His promises and arises to bring them to pass.
b) His arising aligns your life with destiny (Psalm 102:13):
When your time of favour comes, God arises to lift and establish you.
c) God uses shaking to birth His agenda (Haggai 2:6-7):
When He arises, systems shift and divine purposes emerge.
d) He sets the stage for revival and restoration (Joel 2:25-27):
His arising brings restoration of what was lost.
Biblical Example: On the Day of Pentecost, God arose mightily through the Holy Spirit, birthing the church and spreading the gospel (Acts 2:1-4).
5. GOD ARISES TO JUDGE WICKEDNESS AND EXALT THE RIGHTEOUS
a) God is a righteous Judge (Psalm 7:11):
He will not allow evil to triumph forever.
b) He brings down the proud and lifts the humble (Luke 1:52):
When God arises, there is divine rearrangement of positions.
c) The wicked are punished and exposed (Psalm 37:9-10):
Their end is destruction unless they repent.
d) The righteous are remembered and rewarded (Malachi 3:16-18):
God arises to distinguish those who serve Him.
Biblical Example: When God arose in the days of Mordecai, Haman was judged and Mordecai was honoured (Esther 6:10-13; 7:9-10).
CONCLUSION:
When God arises, He does not do so casually—He moves with power, authority, and precision. Every time God arises in Scripture, there is a dramatic change: enemies flee, captives are set free, battles are won, and destinies are fulfilled. This is the God we serve.
As believers, we must cry out with faith and expectation: "Let God arise!" Let Him arise in your family, your career, your ministry, and your nation. When He arises, you will see testimonies that will silence the mockers. Refuse to stay silent—invite God to arise over every situation in your life.
