Quotes:

“We are stripped bare by the curse of plenty.” -Winston Churchill

"It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness." -Eleanor Roosevelt

“God doesn't bless us just to make us happy; He blesses us to make us a blessing.” ― Warren W. Wiersbe

Genesis 12:1-3 “1- Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2- And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3- And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

Zechariah 8:13 "And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel, so will I save you and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong."

Galatians 3:13-14 “13- Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree (Deut. 21:23): 14- That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

In Hebrew the word “bless” concretely means to bow (bend the knee) down and give a gift.

From a Hebraic perspective a “blessing” is any action or object that is presented out of respect to another.

God had such respect for His creation that: “…that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” –John 3:16

–Juan 3:16

In Hebrew the word “curse” concretely means to spit upon.

Genesis 12:3 would read something like: And I will bless (respect) them that bless (respect) thee, and curse (spit upon) them that curseth (spits upon) thee...

When we are saved by the Grace and Mercy of God through the precious blood of Christ the curse of sin is broken off our lives.

When a Curse is made a Blessing, it is a wonderful thing.

Jesus the Christ willingly emptied Himself that we could be full!

He became poor in this life that we could become rich in Spirit!

Let’s examine a case of a curse being made a blessing by Jesus:

Mark 7:32-34 “32- And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. 33- And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; 34- And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.”

Jesus “spit” representing the curse and He touched the problem areas of his life and set him free from them.

Jesus can/will break every curse, bondage and hindrance from your life, if you will let Him touch you.

He can/will heal and mend every heartache and hurt if you will let Him touch your life.

Let Jesus make the curse into a blessing for you today with His overcoming power!

The Psalmist said in Psalm 1:1 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”
