Summary: Turn "What are you going to do today?" into "What does God want me to do today?"

What Will You Do With This Day?

"Every house has a builder, but God is the one who made everything."

Hebrews 3:4 (NLT)

Intro: What are you going to do today?

Sometimes the biggest decision people make on some days is what to wear.

The most valuable thing people have today is there time….

You can make more money

You can’t make more time…

Talk about Psalm 118:24 "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."

I. Work on One Relationship.

"And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house." Luke 19:5 (KJV)

Shape the story of Zacchaeus as and example of Jesus teaching us how to work on relationships with people.

II. Work on One Vice.

"And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise." Luke 23:43 (KJV)

Define “vice” as a fault, weakness, an immoral behavior we need to change. Explain how the story of the thief on the cross saw the err of his way and repented and received forgiveness from Jesus.

Illustration: What if you had won a prize of about one and a half million dollars…, After taxes and fees you were going to receive about $2400 dollars per day for one year. That works out to about $100 every hour of every day for a year. But what if the condition of the prize was that you have to spend every dollar of that $2400 in that one day. How would you spend it? God gives us each 24 hours a day…. How will you spend the next day?

III. Work on One Lost Lost Soul.

"Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:" James 4:13 (KJV)

Talk about the need to have an urgency to make disciples. We don’t know if there will be time tomorrow.

Do you realize that you are a builder of people? Talk about the opening verse of Hebrews 3:4 and how every person has a chance to change the lives of people around them.

Closing: What does God have planned for you today?
