Summary: Trouble comes to every life in some way and at some time with some consequences. When it dies it is important to know that God has not forsaken, nor forgotten you.

There are three w’s to consider in trouble:

1. The “w” of when, James 1:1-5

2. The “w” of why

a. Job had trouble, Job 14:1

1) Job testing shows our faith.

2) 1 Peter 1:6-7

b. Jesus

1) Jesus suffered or had trouble because he was godly.

2) 1 Peter 4:12-16

3) John 15:18-19

c. Jonah

1) Jonah had trouble, Hebrews 12:5

2) Jonah suffered because of willful disobedience.

3. The “w” of what

a. What to do when trouble comes is the subject matter for this message.

b. The word trouble means to break, to crush, to press and squeeze.

c. We are talking more than a bad day, a flat tire, etc.

d. I have made one statement over and over concerning trouble. The difference in people’s lives. It is not the absence of trouble, but the attitude in the trouble.

What to do?

I. Believe God’s Word

1. God knows the best way to live a life.

2. His word is true.

3. You want to believe in someone and something, the Word!

4. Proverbs 3:5-6

5. Matthew 24:35

6. 1 Peter 5:7

7. Acts 27:21-25

II. Make the Family a Priority

1. For in time of trouble, you know how important you are to each other.

2. Love, loyalty, support, trust, patience; 1 Corinthians 13:8

3. Colossians 3:17-21

III. Thank God for Each Day

1. Psalm 118: 24, This is the day.

2. Each day should be new and exciting.

3. An opportunity to serve God, and to trust God. Psalm 37:3

4. If you have ever been at the point of death. You know the preciousness of each day.

5. Make each day important.

IV. Always be Thankful

1. Philippians 4:5-7

2. For whatever you have.

3. For whatever you are.

4. For whatever is a part of your life. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

V. Remember That God will Supply Your Need

1. He will never fail.

2. He may and will use many ways and people to do it.

3. Philippians 4:19, Luke 6:38, Matthew 6:25-34

VI. You Will Never be Alone

1. Hebrews 13:5-6

2. You are part of the family of God. 2 Corinthians 6:18

3. God the Father cares and the family cares.

4. God is promising His power, protection, and provision.

VII. Set Your Priorities

1. Decide what is really important, what matters most.

2. In times of trouble, many things lose their significance.

VIII. Watch out for Materialism

1. Being caught up with what you have or do not have. Luke 12:15

2. It doesn’t bring a moment of life or peace or preserve you.

IX. In Closing

1. When trouble comes examine your life

2. Examine your attitude.

3. Examine your relationships.

4. Psalm 139:23-24
