“What Ticket Are You Holding”

Luke 12:5 NLT

www.destinyfellowship.com

You know in a lot of places in our world they use tickets for all kinds of things.

Raffles, lotteries, and casinos all use tickets in some way or other. People run around hoping that they are holding the winning number!

I came with a word this morning about some other tickets that people are holding that will make an eternal difference in their life.

Hand out tickets with the different names on them. Tell holder to hold onto it until I call on it!

The events that are taking place in our world today are demanding that we identify what is really important to us in our life.

If you cannot be honest with yourself then who can you be real with?

Remember this;

Ecclesiastes 12:14 NLT God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.

Now I want us to look at what the Lord was sharing in my heart this week.

We have heard a lot about having a ticket to heaven. But did you know that absolutely no one gets in HELL without a ticket!

Let’s look at some of the tickets it takes to get into hell.

Revelation 21:7-8 NLT All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.

“But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

I believe we have a clear picture of some of the tickets a person will hold that will grant them access to an eternity in hell.

I. Let’s take a closer look at some of these tickets.

1. Cowards…

Does anyone have any idea what this refers to in this scripture?

They are unwilling to stand firm in the face of trouble and testing. They are not so much unbelievers but rather those who are unfaithful or faithless!

John 20:26-27 NLT Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” he said. 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”

Unwilling to risk not being accepted by the crowd. Maybe embarrassed because you think you don’t know enough about the bible to give right or correct answers.

Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Say with me right now; “I will be strong & courageous in Jesus!”

2. Unbelievers…

These represent those who are not Christians or profess to be one. Listen to Paul making his point to a group of Christians concerning the difference.

1 Corinthians 5:9-11 NLT When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. 10 But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. 11 I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer[a] yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people.

We are not going to talk a lot about this one. You know right now that no unbeliever will make heaven so that is their personal ticket to separation from God forever!

Say with me right now; “I will not be found as an unbeliever & I will not build unfruitful relationships with unbelievers!” I will walk in the light as Jesus is my light!

3. The Corrupt/Murders… (Abominable)

Who is the corrupt referred to here?

Random House Dictionary:

guilty of dishonest practices, as bribery; lacking integrity; crooked: a corrupt judge. debased in character; depraved; perverted; wicked; evil:

If we get honest with our self we find out it is rather simple to

identify what ticket your are carrying to find your place in eternity!

Say with me; Through Jesus Christ my Lord, I will not live a

corrupt life by will intentionally & on Purpose live my life in His

character!

4. Immoral…

John Gill, one of the early father’s of our faith said this; all unclean persons, that indulge themselves in impure lusts, in fornication, adultery, and all lewdness;

Ephesians 5:3 NLT Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people.
