What Season are You In? Text: Genesis 8:22

“While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.”

If you belong to God, right now, your season is designed just for you. How can you be sure of this? Two reasons, first, God is in control. Secondly, Genesis 2:20-21 tells us, Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the LORD smelled a soothing aroma. Then the LORD said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.

Think about this: One offering changed the mind and heart of God.

Notice, even though God knew man’s heart hasn’t changed, He said, God will show mercy by never cursing the ground again. Noah’s first acts was to build an altar and sacrifice to the Lord. Because of Noah’s faith, God instituted the law of Seedtime and Harvest. Every act of your life is operated by the seed principle. However, Jesus became the final seed planted into the ground.

It was spring, but it was summer I wanted,

The warm days, and the great outdoors.

It was summer, but it was fall I wanted,

The colorful leaves, and the cool, dry air.

It was fall, but it was winter I wanted,

The beautiful snow, and the joy of the holiday season.

It was winter, but it was spring I wanted,

The warmth and the blossoming of nature.

I was a child, but it was adulthood I wanted,

The freedom and respect.

I was 20, but it was 30 I wanted,

To be mature, and sophisticated.

I was middle-aged, but it was 20 I wanted,

The youth and the free spirit.

I was retired, but it was middle-age I wanted,

The presence of mind without limitations.

My life was over, and I never got what I wanted.

So, what season are you in? What season do you wish you were in?

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8NKJ To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: 2 A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; 3 A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; 7 A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; 8 A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.

Each event has its proper time and cycle. 1. Breathe 2. Embrace 3. Trust God

2 Timothy 4:1-3NKJ I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;

Verse 2, Be ready in season and out of season: 2121 Greek (yoo-kahee-ros) well-timed, in time of need, opportune.

Paul tells Timothy that it doesn’t matter what season you are in, preach the word! In other words, time and season’s come, but God’s word is timeless, it’s always relevant.

It has the ability to save, change, heal or deliver in any season.

Of course there are 4 season’s, but Spiritually speaking there are 4 Spiritual season’s.

First, there is Spring: Represents- Rainy times, new growth, the soil is soft, it’s time to plow, till and make rows. Expectation, Color change, buds open, dreams, tired from working, getting things ready, sowing.

Second, there is Summer: Dryness, dissatisfaction (Not what you thought) midlife, fruit comes, results. (Good, bad and sometimes wormy)

Thirdly, there is Autumn: Lonely time, fruit has been harvested, money, bills paid, colors.

Fourthly, there is winter: Most everything becomes dormant, but remember, look close around you because everything has buds. The ground is hard, the days are short, it’s time to rest.
