Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples, went to the leading priests [15] and asked, "How much will you pay me to betray Jesus to you?" And they gave him thirty pieces of silver. [16] From that time on, Judas began looking for the right time and place to betray Jesus.

Personally Chosen

Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness. [2] Here are the names of the twelve apostles:

Bartholomew,

Thomas,

Matthew (the tax collector),

James (son of Alphaeus),

Thaddaeus,

Then Mary took a twelve-ounce jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard, and she anointed Jesus’ feet with it and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with fragrance.

But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples—the one who would betray him—said, [5] "That perfume was worth a small fortune. It should have been sold and the money given to the poor." [6] Not that he cared for the poor—he was a thief who was in charge of the disciples’ funds, and he often took some for his own use.

[7] Jesus replied, "Leave her alone. She did it in preparation for my burial.

An Open Door

Leading A Double Life

•Judas greeted Jesus in the garden with a kiss

Judas had given them a prearranged signal: "You will know which one to arrest when I go over and give him the kiss of greeting." [49] So Judas came straight to Jesus. "Greetings, Teacher!" he exclaimed and gave him the kiss.
