Summary: Maybe you are going through a period of great disappointment in life. IT IS LIKE A DOOR HAS BEEN SHUT TO WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS YOUR FUTURE! You aren’t the only one to experience this kind of disappointment.
What to do next!
Proverbs 23:18 “For surely there is a hereafter, And your hope will not be cut off.”
I have come to now enjoy my tedious bus journey in the villages, because I have gained lot of information through the local people and also have got a lot of stuff to share with you guys everyday. I know you are encouraged! During one of my journey, I got to speak to a farmer’s wife who narrated about their village life. They seem to be a pretty industrious lot who kept thinking of what to do next when one fails. When they have good rains they plant peanuts that brought in good money; however, during other times, people who have their own piece of land but do not have their own pump sets, pay and get water into their field and plant other crops, or these people do not hesitate to go and work in the fields of other people. They don’t sit and twiddle their thumb but they get moving to do what is next on hand.
Maybe you are going through a period of great disappointment in life. IT IS LIKE A DOOR HAS BEEN SHUT TO WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS YOUR FUTURE! You aren’t the only one to experience this kind of disappointment. Recently I received an email from a brother who said that his wife was asked to find another job without giving her sufficient time. When a lady questioned her husband, when he returned home midnight, who has lived with her for ten years and has two children out of the marriage, looked at her and said that he has another woman in his life. Shattering! Despite tithing and walking with God suddenly you find your finances dwindling down. You have waited for long and still you don’t seem to have answers for all the problems in your life. It’s not over yet! I want to tell you that there is a “hereafter”.
I like the way the widow Ruth kept moving forward in her life, despite the disaster that struck her whole family. The four chapters in the book of Ruth teach us to trust God and keep moving forward in our life. May be there is someone out there who is going through tragic circumstances of pain and betrayal . I pray that God would heal that person right now. With every trial we are brought closer to the Lord. Psalm 146:5 says “Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God” God’s Word is Clear “Happy are those whose hope is in the Lord.” Where is your hope today? If you have placed your hope in your savings, in your friends, good financial background, steady job, let me tell you, they would all fail one day. But if you whole-heartedly have hope in the Lord and in His promises then you will be blessed.
You don’t have to be fearful about the future? Place your future in the Hands of the mighty God. Live one day at a time completely surrendered to God’s will. I think this message is truly needed for the such a time as this where nothing is certain. Uncertainly lurks in the air! Fear seems to be gripping people! Cheer up folks, for a child of God the only hope has to be His promises! Let hope be your rope that you hold on tightly as you traverse the rough paths of life but remember the ends are held by the Hands of the Lord.
