What Must Be Done In Order For Prayer To Produce Results?

WHAT MUST BE DONE IN ORDER FOR PRAYER TO PRODUCE RESULTS?

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 17 Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. 19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. JAMES 5:13-20

I. PRAYER MUST BE ANOINTED. V-14 and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Rom 8:26Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God

II. PRAYER MUST BE FOR THE RIGHT MOTIVE AND PURPOSE.

(It must be done in the Name of the Lord) V-14 in the name of the Lord

Eph 5:7 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

III. IT MUST BE OFFERED IN FAITH - BELIEVING. V-15

Being in right standing with God when you pray is conducive to effectual praying.

V. IT MUST BE OFFERED IN HARMONY WITH ONE ANOTHER.

VI. IT MUST BE OFFERED BY A RIGHTEOUS MAN. V- 16.

VII. IT MUST BE OFFERED FERVENTLY. V- 16 effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

VIII. IT MUST BE OFFERED IN THE TRUTH OF GOD’S WORD. V-19,20
