What Meaneth This?
Contributed by Pastor/Author: Terry Sisney on Aug 11, 2007 (message contributor)
Summary: We still need manifestations of the power of God in our midst today that provokes the world to say (What meaneth this?)

1. the day of Pentecost was fully come. Let me stop right here and say that Pentecost is not a denomination, it is an experience, (Belonging to a certain denomination does not make you pentecostal any
more than parking a v.w. under a cadillac sign makes it a cadillac). It’s not the name over the door that matters, it is your relationship with the Holy Spirit.
2. They were all with one accord in one place. This in itself should be the aim of every service, to reach the place where all that are assembled are sounding the same note of praise and worship and adoration. And magnifying the Lord.
Ps 133:1-3
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
Unity= The state or quality of being one, accord, Harmony. Singleness of purpose and action.
2Chr. 5:13-14 As the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard, saying praise the Lord for he is good and his mercy endureth forever,
the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;
14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.
And Suddenly: Suddenly: Instantly, Surprisingly, Quickly without warning.
(Acts 16:26) And (suddenly) there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
Everything looks hopeless, bound hand and foot, in the deepest darkest filthiest part of the prison, everything they could see shouted useless, hopeless, helpless, give up.
Then (suddenly) everything changed.
(Luke 2:13) And (suddenly) there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
A night like any other, shepherds were watching over their sheep, Then (suddenly) These lowly shepherds became the audience to heavens choir and their lives would never be the same.
On his way to persecute the church, Saul one of the greatest enemies of the church that ever lived experienced one of Gods suddenly’s.
Acts 9:3-6
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and (suddenly)there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
We Should live everyday in the expectation of Gods suddenlies
preach every sermon, teach every lesson, sing every song, Sow every seed, pray every prayer, with the expectation that SUDDENLY, someone will fall under conviction and be saved, (suddenly) someone will be healed, (suddenly) someone will be filled with the Holy Ghost speaking with other tongues as the spirit gives the utterance.
(Suddenly) the yoke of addiction and bondage will be broken, (suddenly) someone will get their joy back, their peace back. (Suddenly) the spirit of fear will be broken. (Suddenly) hope will spring up where there was none.
Financial breakthrough will come, Marriages will be healed.
The two identifying remarks of Pentecost were and still are
1. What meaneth this? and 2. These men are full of new wine
The truth is we need some what meaneth this, moves of the Spirit in our midst today.
Something that has no other explanation other than (God).
These men are full of new wine.
This was spoken critically, but it was spoken truthfully, they recognized that they were full.
The sad truth is today,is that most of us are not full like that, Most of the church are satisfied with just enough Holy Ghost to get them to heaven.
The prophet Elisha said to the little widow women who borrowed the empty vessels, to set aside that which was full.
Full meant ready for service,(we’re not truly ready for service until we’re full.
That’s why Lu 24:49 Jesus told his disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with Power from on High.
When the upper room got (filled),then they got (filled) when got (filled) it overflowed out into the streets,
And when we get full we will overflow, (When we are truly filled it will not be limited to church services).
