WHAT KIND OF A CHRISTIAN ARE YOU?

Acts 11:26

INTRODUCTION: There are as many as seven different kinds of Christians That come to my mind, sometimes I am tempted to believe there are 57 varieties.,, There is the:

I. UNFED CHRISTIAN - HE WON'T EAT

A. He cannot say as Jeremiah, Jer. l5:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

II. LAZY CHRISTIAN - HE WON'T WORK

A. He has never obeyed the command of Jesus, Matt. 21:28 Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

B. John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

III. THE WORLDLY CHRISTIAN - HE WON'T SEPARATE

A. He does not believe James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

2Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

IV. TIED-UP CHRISTIAN - HE WON'T YIELD

A. A perfect picture of a tied-up Christian is Lazarus going about with his grave clothes on.

John 11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

V. TIMID CHRISTIAN - HE WON'T TAKE A STAND

A. Here is a text for a timid Christian, Josh. l:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

VI. DEFEATED CHRISTIAN - HE WON'T TRUST

A. Isaiah the prophet cried, Isaiah 34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail

Isaiah 42:4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, for I have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for my law.

VII. VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN - HE WILL SUCCEED

A. He says, Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

B. John the Beloved said, I John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
