Summary: The Peace of God is not dependent on the surroundings or of circumstances. It never leaves us even as the Lord will never leave us. The peace God gives us is not of this world, it is a heavenly peace.

WHAT IS THE PEACE OF GOD?

John 14:27 (KJV) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as

the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let

it be afraid.

The Peace of God is not dependent on the surroundings or of circumstances.

It never leaves us even as the Lord will never leave us. The peace God gives

us is not of this world, it is a heavenly peace.

I. THIS PEACE KNOWS THAT GOD HAS LOVED US AND

GIVEN US THIS PEACE.

A. Being loved satisfies like nothing else.

1. Nothing satisfies as God's love. John 3:16

B. The Love of God is revealed in Christ. 1 John 4:9-10 (KJV) 9

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that

God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might

live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but

that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our

sins.

1. Jesus is our source of strength. Philippians 4:13

(KJV) I can do all things through Christ which

strengtheneth me.

2. He is the source of our comfort. John 14:16 And I

will pray the Father, and he shall give you another

Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.

3. Jesus is the source of our peace. Ephesians 2:14 For

He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath

broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

II. WE HAVE THIS PEACE AS HE HAS A DIVINE PLAN FOR

EACH OF US.

A. We build with success when we build upon His Plan for us.

1. His Word is our blueprint. Psalm 37:23 The steps of a

good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth

in his way.

2. When we accept God plan for our life we have Peace.

Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying,

Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I,

Here am I; send me.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this

is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust

thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever

III. HIS PEACE COMES TO US BECAUSE OF BEING

FORGIVEN!

Acts 5:31 (KJV) Him hath God exalted with his right hand to

be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and

forgiveness of sins.

Acts 13:38 (KJV) Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren,

that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

A. Christian peace comes through knowing our sins are forgiven.

1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to

forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the

name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life,

and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

1. Only Christ can give this peace, because He is our Peace.

2. I love the words to the old hymn 'He is my Peace'.

He is our peace

Who has broken down every wall,

He is our peace, He is our peace.

He is our peace

Who has broken down every wall,

He is our peace, He is our peace.

Cast all your cares on Him,

For He cares for you,

He is our peace, He is our peace.
