Summary: Jesus said that Only the "Good and noble heart." receives the word and produces fruit. Do I have a Good and noble heart?

What Is A Good & Noble Heart?

Introduction:

1. Last week we studied the parable of the sower.

2. We learned that the Word of God only bears fruit when planted in a, "Good and noble heart."

3. We discussed the need for Chritians to broadcast the seed of the word so that it could bear permenant fruit.

4. However if we learned from the parable that the word is designed to bear fruit in a "good and noble heart" perhaps we should ask ouselves, "Is my heart a ’good and noble heart’?"

To anwer this question we pose yet another question found in the Title of our lesson, What is a "Good and Noble Heart?"

I. A Loving Heart

Mark 12:30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment.

Mark 12:33 And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

II. A believing Heart

Romans 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

V An obedient Heart

Romans 6:17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.

V. A giving Heart

2 Corinthians 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

VI. A rejoicing Heart

Acts 2:26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.

VII. A heart That Guards The Tongue

Matthew 12:35 "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
