What Is A Family Should Be

Summary: Why you need a house? Why God felt that "Adam" needed to have a family? Hear to David, a man with a blessed family!
WHAT IS A FAMILY SHOULD BE...
(Or, perhaps I should say: 5 functions of a "house")
David said, "one thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek;" Did or do you are in the quest to find a good marriage? Try to change your "house".
Note: Every time I mention about "house", I also talking about "a family"
1. Make your house as a dwelling place.
"That I may dwell in the house..." Ps 27:4
The first function of a house is, a house is not just a house but its also must be a home. Many people make their house as a garage; they come home late at night and leave their house early in the morning. House must be a home where every member of the family can feel comfort.
2. Make your house as a God’s temple.
"To behold the beauty of the LORD and to meditate in His temple." Ps 27:4
The second function of a house is: a house must be a place where can come to grow in their spiritual relationship with God. David even said that he could behold "the beauty of the Lord"; it means personal experience with God.
Teach your children to know God. Do not depend their spiritual grow to the church. That’s not it should be, it’s not biblical!
3. Make your house as a God’s pavilion.
"For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle [shelter, pavilion]." Ps 27:5
The third function of a house is: a house must be a pavilion, a resting place, and a place where we can relax, even in the days of trouble.
Many people always felt their house, or family, as "a hell on earth". They can’t relax. People, change your house into "paradise on earth"!! Let there be joy and peace of God in your family. Wives, serve your husband! Husbands love your wives! Children, obey your parents! That’s the key!
4. Make your house as a secret place of His tabernacle.
"In the secret place of His tent He will hide me;" Ps 27:5
The fourth function of a house is: a house must be our personal place to develop our relationship with God. If the second function, talks about we as a family, now it talks about we as one person. Family must be a place where we can grow spiritually, a place where we can find God. Many people try to find God in the church, that’s good, but its not enough! Our house is the perfect place to build our personal relationship with God.
5. Make your house as a rock.
"He will lift me up on a rock." Ps 27:5
The fifth function of a house is: a house must be a place where every member of the family can feel being respect, a place where every member of family can feel protected and not fell abandoned.
Parents, are your children felt not safe at home? Are they told you every problems they had? If not, it means your family not being a rock! Husbands, did your wives tell you their problem? Wives, did your husbands share with you their problem? Your family must be a rock where every one will be lift up by every members of family. Be a supported family!
