Summary: What do children see out of us?
WHAT HAVE THEY SEEN IN THINE HOUSE
2nd Kings 20
12At that time Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.
13And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
14Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.
15And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.
16And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD.
Hazekiah the king is seriously ill.
He turned his face to the wall and prayed God give me more time in which to do my duties.
1.They should see Christ in the home.
A number of homes have a motto on the wall which reads. CHRIST ISYHE HEAD OF THIS HOME
The unseen guest is there all the time
A silent listener to every conversation
2.They should see love in the home.
It should be founded on love
Children should be born in love
Love should abound in all areas
Companionship and sweet fellowship should prevail in all homes
3. They should see the Bible in every home
Not a dust collector on the coffee table
Children should see you read it
They should hear it from your lips.
They need to see it hear it in every home.
4. They should hear prayer in every home
Blessing for our meals
Thank God for what you have
Praise him in prayer every day.
5 They should see discipline n every home
Discipline not cruelty
Loving Correction
We need parents who love enough to correct their children.
6. The should see peace in the home
The world beats us down
It leaves broken baffled
Peace not troubled hearts
7.They should see Christian examples in there home.
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Parents must be the trainer
They will not depart from the Lord
