THINGS THAT GOD CANNOT DO

Text: Ps. 96:1-13; Job. 42:1-2

O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth. 2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. 3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. 4 For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised:

he is to be feared above all gods. 5 For all the gods of the nations are idols:but the LORD made the heavens. 6 Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. 7 Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength. 8 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts. 9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness:

fear before him, all the earth. 10 Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof. 12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice Psalms 96:1-12

Introduction:

There are certain things in life that men would appreciate most. Many of such things are not determined by their cost or magnitude but by the values it brought to the recipient at the nick of time. For example many people will place much value on the following:

Gifts that come in the nick of time

Water that comes when one is thirsty

Food that comes when one is starving.

A voice of commendation in the midst of condemnation

Gifts that the recipient cannot afford by himself

Gifts that say thank you to the recipient and

Gifts that solves a major problem

The Almighty God would appreciate what you do for Him that He cannot do for Himself. Do you think there are no such things? There are so many things that God cannot do and this statement will surprise you. However if this sound like heresy let’s make it mild by saying there are certain things that God would rather want you to do for him.

God cannot broadcast Himself. Isa.6:8

It takes a journalist to broadcast the activities of the government or an organization and God has always been seeking for such but found just a few. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:8

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16

2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name;

shew forth his salvation from day to day.

3 Declare his glory among the heathen,

his wonders among all people.

4 For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised:

he is to be feared above all gods.

5 For all the gods of the nations are idols:

but the LORD made the heavens Ps. 96:2-5.

God wants you to declare his glory among the heathen. Many of us have only declared him in the congregation of the saints in our various churches. We had in the past given our testimonies among the people who are already acutely aware of the goodness and mercy of God. He wants us to let his enemy know about him. Let those doubting-people about faith in God know God is alive and is performing miracles.

Below are some of the people in the Bible who took his messages directly to the places where they had never acknowledged Him before.

Exo.3:4 Moses was sent to tell of Him to Pharaoh

Jn. 4:28-30.The woman by the well in Samaria broadcast him to her villagers and they turned to Christ.

Jn. 1:1-17. John the Baptist was sent to witness for him

Why is God sending you and me? He prefers to send human to humans because they should be able to relate like humans.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:13-15

God cannot listen to Himself.

The reason we speak is because we want someone to hear what we are saying and take necessary action. When God speaks he is not speaking to himself like a mad person but want us to do something. He is not listening to himself but to us just as we want to hear him speak to us.
