Summary: Even the four friends were Amazed. What will it take to amaze you?
What does it take to be Amazed by the master?
Mark 2:1-12
insomuch that they were all amazed, that amazes me. The guys
carrying the stretcher were amazed too.
1. Desire
to wish or long for; to crave, to want.
Be careful what you set your heart upon for it will surely be yours.
Ps 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the
desires of thine heart.
Pro 10:24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the
desire of the righteous shall be granted.
Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search
for me with all your heart.
Matt 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after
righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Lam 3:25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the
soul that seeketh him.
2. Determination. Gen 32: 24 -30
the quality of being resolute; firmness of purpose.
a fixed purpose or intention:
"A determinate purpose in life and a steady adhesion to it through all
disadvantages, are indispensable conditions of success."
Hosea 12:4, tells us, Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed.
Lk 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let
him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but
Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh
I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and
gave himself for me.
Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that
the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we
should not serve sin.
3. Discipline.
an activity, exercise, or regimen that develops or improves a skill;
1 Cor 9: 24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but
one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And
every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all
things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we
an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so
fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my
body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when
I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
