What Day Was Christ Crucified?

Summary: Why do we have to do mental gymnastics to have Christ die on Friday? Do we forget that the day after Passover is a special sabbath day? Here is a timeline working back from the resurrection to the triumphal entry.
RESURRECTION TO TRIUMPHAL ENTRY: A HARMONY
Resurrection Day: Our Hope Assured. (Nisan 18, Saturday evening to Sunday evening)
1. Christ rises from the dead early on the first day of the week (just after
6 PM) (Matt. 28:6, Mark 16:6, Luke 24:6)
2. Mary Magdalene, Mary mother of James, and Salome bring spices near dawn Sunday morning.
