Summary: The world is full of people who are making a good living but living poor lives.

Matthew 16:26-For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

The world is full of people who are making a good living but living poor lives.

The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win you're still a rat.

What we have at the center of our attention is what has us.

When King David gave his attention to God, he was able to achieve greatness, to see his dreams fulfilled, but when he turned his attention to Bathsheba, he began to see his world crumble around him.

Judas agreed to sell Jesus for 30 pieces of silver

He was willing exchange Jesus for 30 pieces of silver

What have we exchange Jesus for?

Television

What is your price?

If you attempt to talk with a dying person about sports or business, politics, they are no longer interested. They now sees other things as more important. People who are dying recognize what we often forget, that we are standing on the brink of another world.

When they lay you in the grave, are people going to stand around reciting fancy titles you have earned, or are they going to stand around giving testimonies of the good things you did for others? If it ever comes down to a choice between a title or a testimony -- go for testimony. Tony Campolo

Manna is a Hebrew word. Its literal meaning is, "what is it" or if they were in Texas, we pronounce it…"Whatchmacallit" Numbers 11:4-9,18-20,31-33

It was a complete food, it had all vitamins and minerals that they needed. We read this information about it’s nutritional value. Deut. 8:4-Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years.

Numbers 11:5-6-We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!”

Freely-They forgot about the whips, and beatings and the hard task and the years of crying out for God to deliverer them!

Yet all Israel could think about is what they didn’t have!

They needed rescued and God delivered them!

They needed water and God let water flow from a rock!

They needed food and God gave them food!

And for a bonus…A cloud by day and fire by night! God’s central air conditioning and heating!

More Christians need to take their eyes off of the things they don’t have or the things they want and fix their eyes upon the things they do have!!!

I had walked life's way with an easy tread,

I had traveled where pleasures and comfort lead

until one day in a quiet place,

I met the Master face to face.

With station and rank and wealth for my goal,

Much thought for my body but none for my soul,

I'd entered to win this life's mad race,

until I met the Master face to face.

I built my towers and reared them high,

'til they had pierced the blue of the sky.

I'd sworn to rule with an iron mace,

until I met my Master face to face.

I met Him and knew Him and blushed to see,

that His eyes, full of sorrow, were fixed upon me.

I faltered and fell at his feet that day,

while my castles melted and vanished away.

Melted and vanished and in their place,

nothing else could I see but the Master's face.

My thoughts are now for the souls of men,

I had lost my life to find it again.

Since that day in a quiet place,

when I met the Master face to face
