2 Samuel 5: 1-3 1) All the tribes of Israel came to David in Hebron and said: “Here we are, your bone and your flesh. 2 In days past, when Saul was our king, it was you who led the Israelites out and brought them back. And the LORD said to you, ‘You shall shepherd my people Israel and shall be commander of Israel.’”3 When all the elders of Israel came to David in Hebron, King David made an agreement with them there before the LORD, and they anointed him king of Israel.

Deuteronomy 1:15 15 So I took outstanding men of your tribes, wise and experienced, and made them your leaders as officials over thousands, over hundreds, over fifties and over tens, and other tribal officers.

2 Samuel 5: 6-8 6 † Then the king and his men set out for Jerusalem against the Jebusites who inhabited the region. David was told, “You cannot enter here: the blind and the lame will drive you away!” which was their way of saying, “David cannot enter here.” 7 But David did take the stronghold of Zion, which is the City of David. 8 On that day David said: “All who wish to attack the Jebusites must strike at them through the water shaft. The lame and the blind shall be the personal enemies of David.” That is why it is said, “The blind and the lame shall not enter the palace.”

Overview

God is raising David up and when he raises David up he is literally trying to confirm what has already been done in his life. (Designed In Eternity Past) ( Killed the lion, bear, and defeated goliath.

Took a mature people at hebron There are a mature bunch ( Called Elders)

Partnering Anointing

When You Deal with Elders You’re not dealing with 1) Who can preach 2) Who Gives the most 3) Who’s the most gifted, rather who’s the most mature. When you’re a mature person you’re not or don’t: 1) A Petty Person 2) Moody Person 3) Hang out in Clicks 3) Wear your feelings on your face 4) Throw rocks and hide your hand 5) pick and choose when you praise 6) Who you serve with and who you don’t

It takes a mature people to understand that the process is going to rocky on the way so you don’t kill the team before you get there.

Double Anointing

The anointing you possess - The anointing of the audience that partners with you

He’s anointed and waiting for an audience to embrace who he really is, because only one of the tribes of Israel recognized David as king. The other tribes recognized the pretend king Ishbosheth a son of Saul.

Because: 1) He was there second choice – anointed by God 2) This audience had need of him 3) All the tribes paid attention to David’s character and David never tried to prove that he was number 1 he just stayed faithful at number 2 until his season had come.

David had nothing to prove

You have nothing to prove

I prove things to myself to come to a realization that I am not as shallow as I used to be.

You can be anointed but if the audience does not receive you, then the anointing is not powerful as it need to be.

You have to be mature enough to see greatness in people when they are not functioning in who they really are now!!!

Can you celebrate me when I’m at a season when nothing that God said looks like it exists in my now?

Deuteronomy 1:15 Figure out the capacity of my leader and not the crowd Then I have to Partner with the leader’s capacity.

Analogy – If God gives you a vision of a millionaire and you function as a poor minded person then you have missed it.

We have to enhance the leader’s capacity – Sheep beget sheep - We need to stretch ourselves and stop hanging out with parked cars and make something happen comparable to Your leader’s capacity.

2 Samuel 5: 6-8 immediately when David gets anointed David goes into warfare

When you get anointed you go into warfare – The anointing is an upgrade

The anointing was to prepare you for what you had to face and not what you had already conquered.

Blind is the inability to see further than there imagination

I can talk to you about: 1) Vision 2) Your Resources 3) Opportunity and you never see it. When you’re blind you can’t see you’re part of the problem. When you’re blind you can’t see that what we’re trying to accomplish you are in the equation.

Mephibosheth Lame -It so happened that Saul’s son, Jonathan, had a son who was maimed in both feet. When he was five years old, the report on Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel. His nurse picked him up and ran, but in her hurry to get away she fell, and the boy was maimed. His name was Mephibosheth.

As long as the church was not moving you looked wonderful – When it started moving your flaws were exposed

When its vision it’s not what I see it’s what needs to be done.
