Welcome & Call to Worship:

We are gathered here today on this most joyous occasion, to witness the joining together of Bryan Fink and Monica Aaron in the holy estate of matrimony.

On behalf of Monica and Bryan, I would like to welcome you to their service of praise and commitment, as they publicly pledge their lifelong love to each other; for your presence here today brings us great joy and happiness.

Biblical Messages:

Marriage is the first institution created of God. All of our modern thinking about marriage originates from God’s holy Word.

God Himself said in Genesis 2:24, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.”

First Corinthians Chapter 13 is often quoted as “The Love Chapter of the Bible.”

Listen to the Apostle Paul’s words:

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails…

Pastoral Prayer

Bryan & Monica, one of the contributions we would like to make today to your marriage would be to join together with you in prayer to God, as we ask for God’s blessings upon your marriage.

Would you join me as we pray together!

Heavenly Father, we give you our thanks because you have brought Monica & Bryan together to begin their family together as husband and wife. May the commitment we witness here today continue throughout their lives. May the vows Bryan & Monica say to each other be repeated daily before you. Just as Monica’s & Bryan’s love grows for one another, may their spiritual love grow together for you. We ask this in the holy name of your Son, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Solo: The Lord’s Prayer

The Giving of The Bride:

Who gives Monica to be married to Bryan?

James: “Her mother and I.”

The Charge to bride & groom

Bryan & Monica, because God places such a high value upon marriage, it must not be entered into lightly or without thought; but with careful consideration, knowing that God is the ordainer of marriage.

As your pastor, I charge you to “be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32).

The exchange of vows:

Bryan & Monica, will you please join hands as you commit yourselves to each other as husband and wife:

Bryan, will you have Monica to be your wedded wife; to live together in the holy state of matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, keep Monica only unto you so long as you both shall live?

(Response of Bryan: “I will.”)

Monica, will you have Bryan to be your wedded husband, to live together in the holy state of matrimony? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, keep Bryan only unto you so long as you both shall live?

(Response of Monica: “I will.”)

Bryan, please repeat after me:

I Bryan, take you Monica, to be my wedded wife; to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God’s holy law, and to you I pledge my love.

Monica, please repeat after me:

I Monica, take you Bryan, to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God’s holy law, and to you I pledge my love.

The exchange of rings:

Bryan & Monica, the rings you have chosen to give each other are symbols of your love and commitment.

Your rings are also symbols of how your lives are being joined in an unbroken circle of compassion and true friendship; always returning to one another the spirit of love that’s within your hearts.
