We Must Obey God Rather Than Men
Contributed by Donato Solano on Nov 11, 2006 (message contributor)
Summary: The church is designed to grow by God. Our obedience is the key to fast growth.
INTRODUCTION
What made the early church grow so fast?
Let us listen from the first members of the church;
I. WE ARE FOLLOWING A SUPREME ORDER, 28-32
A. It is God’s order. It is the highest order. It is from the highest power.
“Strict Order” Versus “Supreme Order”
Note: “WE” –Apostles and all the believers
• Power that raised Jesus to life, the “ONE” you put to death (verse 30). Implication: God is powerful than men and that they may be put to death by them but God will raise them back to life.
• Power that exalted Jesus to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior to grant repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. Implication: They will be honored by God, they will be granted repentance and forgiveness of sins.
B. It is confirmed and directed by the Holy Spirit (verse 32). (Ala-Jesus’ baptism confirmation by God’s voice and by the Holy Spirit)
II. WE ARE FULFILLING GOD’S PLAN, 33-41
A. It is against God’s will to stop us (33-39).
B. It is worthy to suffer for HIS name (41).
III. WE ARE PROCLAIMING THAT JESUS IS THE CHRIST, 42
A. It is our every day’s commission. (Order/Charge)
B. It is our every place’s mission. (Operation)
CONCLUSION
The church is designed to grow by God. Our obedience is the key to fast growth.
