We Must Grow And Mature In Christ Jesus

Topic: *WE MUST GROW AND MATURE IN CHRIST JESUS*

1 Corinthians 3:1-5 King James Version (KJV)

3 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

Beloved, this is the Apostle Paul, mentioning that, because the people of Corinth were not ready to accept or take in advanced teachings of the Word of God, he gave them basic teachings.

He pointed out things like jealousy, envy, strife, hatred among other attitudes that gave them away as babies in Christ and not any different from the carnal man or the worldly man who is not in Christ.

Beloved, the Apostle was then admonishing them to mature in the Lord so that they will stop exhibiting these baby characteristics and be ready to take in advanced teachings of the Word of God and live by them.

Beloved my point is, the kind of preaching and teaching going on these days in many churches are not because the Men of God don't have any deep things to teach or preach or they don't have advanced teachings of God to give their congregation.

They are teaching and preaching what they are teaching and preaching because the congregation is not matured to take in the deep teachings of the Word of God.

When children of God fail to study, pray and fast, they don't grow. They stay as babies in the Lord. Your Man of God is influenced by your appetite, with regards to the messages he preaches or teaches.

As much as people blame Men of God for just preaching prosperity, miracles and the likes, may we also admonish the members to study the Word of God and grow in Christ.

Someone may argue that the Men of God are to lead them there. Beloved they have a role to play but the role is not absolute or entire. The Spirit of God is in you to teach you and direct you (1 John 2:27). He is your first point of call to study the Word of God and mature in Christ.

May we admonish the Church to study the Word of God, ask Precious Holy Spirit to teach us and explain what we learn to us as He reveals mysteries in the Word to us. This is our sure way of maturity and growth. This will move the church from being full of babies with anger, jealousy and envy problems and also from chasing miracles and prophecies all over, leading them to fake teachers and prophets to the Church being full of matured Christians who can eat strong meat and know what they are about in the Lord.

Beloved, *ITS ALL ABOUT JESUS* and no one else. May we study the Word of God daily and grow in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Daddy please empower me to study your Word always and may the Spirit teach me so I mature in the Lord to be able to chew strong meat in Jesus name. Amen.
