Summary: Christians must grow to the point God can use them.
WE MUST BE STRONG MATURE CHRISTIANS
We are in the age to seek maturity . We have the steps that lead to mauturity
Given by Paul.
3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
1. Recognizing our limitations.
Paul recognized his need.
He recognized his shortcomings.
To have a true Christian experience we must recognize our own needs.
We must diagnosis before we can be a healthy Christian life
Recognition of needs come before repentance
We must evaluate our limitations
If we are not adequately prepared it would be tragedy
2. Forgetting our failures
Paul looked back and saw his life
Persecution of the church and all Christians
His religion he remembered how he treated all Christians
Legalism is what he studied Roman laws that was all he enforced
Enforced that they wanted to keep all people under hand
Stopped dwelling on the past mistakes
Look for God to take control of us
Obey him do his will
