Explore the realities of war and the hope for peace, encouraging us to understand these concepts through the lens of faith.
Good morning everyone. Today, we'll be diving deep into Matthew 24, a chapter that speaks to us about war and peace. It's a challenging passage, one that presents us with the harsh realities of our world but also gives us a glimmer of hope in the midst of it all. As Philip Yancey, renowned Christian author, once wrote, "Faith means believing in advance what will only make sense in reverse." So, let's tackle this together with open hearts and minds, trusting that we'll understand more as we explore God's word.
In Matthew 24, Jesus warns us about wars and rumors of wars. He says, "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come." (Matthew 24:6). And yet, despite the bleakness of wars, He also reassures us of the hope for peace, "Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory." (Matthew 24:30).
