INTRODUCTION:
Easter reminds us of the triumphant resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, but what comes after Easter is even more vital for the believer. It is not just the celebration of an event but the embracing of a new reality – that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is now alive in us. This power is not a myth or a metaphor; it is a real, living, transformative force available to every believer.
Many Christians celebrate the resurrection without understanding that they are called to walk in that same resurrection power. It is not enough to shout "He is risen!" if we do not rise in spiritual strength, purpose, and dominion. Resurrection power is not just about eternal life after death—it’s also about victorious living here and now.
Walking in resurrection power means living beyond the limitations of the flesh, fear, failure, and sin. It is embracing a supernatural lifestyle where the Spirit of God energises, empowers, and equips us for godly living and impactful ministry. In this message, we will explore how to walk in that power.
1. RESURRECTION POWER GIVES NEW LIFE
The resurrection of Jesus ushers us into a new spiritual reality.
a) You Are Spiritually Alive
Through Christ, we are no longer dead in sin but alive unto God (Ephesians 2:5).
b) Your Old Life Is Crucified
The old man is buried; a new man has risen (Romans 6:4).
c) You Have a New Identity
We are now seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6).
d) You Have Access to Divine Grace
Resurrection power brings us into the realm of supernatural favour (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Biblical Example: The transformation of Saul to Paul (Acts 9:1-20).
2. RESURRECTION POWER CONQUERS FEAR AND DEATH
The power that raised Jesus also sets us free from fear and bondage.
a) Fear Has No Dominion Over You
God has not given us a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7).
b) Death Has Been Defeated
“O death, where is thy sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55).
c) You Can Live Boldly
The early church preached with power after the resurrection (Acts 4:31).
d) Your Eternity Is Secured
We no longer fear the grave; we await glory (John 11:25-26).
Biblical Example: The boldness of Peter after Pentecost (Acts 2:14–41).
3. RESURRECTION POWER EMPOWERS FOR SERVICE
This power equips us for ministry and spiritual authority.
a) The Holy Spirit Is the Channel
“You shall receive power…” (Acts 1:8).
b) It Awakens Spiritual Gifts
The church functions by the Spirit's gifts (1 Corinthians 12:7-11).
c) It Fuels Bold Evangelism
The disciples turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6).
d) It Breaks Yokes and Chains
Resurrection power is deliverance power (Isaiah 10:27).
Biblical Example: Philip’s Spirit-led ministry in Samaria (Acts 8:5–13).
4. RESURRECTION POWER BRINGS DAILY VICTORY
This power is not seasonal but constant for victorious living.
a) Victory Over Sin
Sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:14).
b) Victory Over Circumstances
Nothing can separate us from God's love (Romans 8:35-39).
c) Victory Over the Flesh
Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfil the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
d) Victory in Weakness
His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Biblical Example: Paul’s perseverance and triumph despite trials (2 Corinthians 11:23–28).
5. RESURRECTION POWER CALLS US TO HIGHER PURPOSE
We are raised to walk in purpose and divine assignment.
a) You Are Not Ordinary
You are chosen and royal (1 Peter 2:9).
b) You Are Called to Reflect His Glory
Let your light shine (Matthew 5:14–16).
c) You Are Part of God’s End-Time Army
The Church is God's instrument on earth (Joel 2:1-11).
d) You Are Empowered for Impact
Greater works shall you do (John 14:12).
Biblical Example: The commissioning of the disciples (Matthew 28:18–20).
