Walking Humbly With Thy God

In Micah 6:8 we find a blueprint for the right relationship with God. We will find out what God requires of us. And we will discover the blessings of walking humbly with God.

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

What Is Good?

It is good to be faithful for the blessings we receive from God. Mt 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

What Does The Lord Require of Thee?

Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (14) For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

To Do Justly. To be Honorable. Heb 13:4 Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. TAKE CARE OF FAMILY AND HOME!

To Love Mercy. The way we receive mercy is to give mercy. 2 Samuel 22:26 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

Luke 10:27 And, Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. Mark says this is the FIRST commandment. Mark 12:30.

Walking Humbly With Thy God. Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Proverbs 18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

Proverbs 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.

Acts 20:19 Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

Col 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

Col 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

They were to be Righteous before God…

Luke 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

2 John 3:3-4 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. (4) I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

Walking in Truth = Walking in the Light

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Do your lives speak truth?

1Co 13:6 Rejoice not in iniquity, but rejoice in the truth.

Iniquity or truth, what does your live show?

Do you know God, do you show God?

1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Do you dwell in Love?

1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Are you walking Humbly with thy God?

Is your Heart Right with God?

You need to hear the Word of God. Rom 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” So it’s not just hearing, but it’s hearing the word of God.

We have to believe what we have heard. These are not just words; they are the footsteps of Jesus and the plan of salvation. Jesus said, John 8:24 “For if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” Belief in Christ is essential. There is NO other way.

We must repent of our sins. Jesus said in “Luke 13:3 “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Unless we repent, we perish. That is the consequence of SIN.
