This sermon encourages believers to live by faith, trusting in God's promises, and not by sight, regardless of life's circumstances.

Introduction

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, what an honor it is to stand before you today, to share the Word of God, to fellowship in His love, and to grow together in faith. We are gathered here, not by chance, but by divine appointment. We are called to listen, to learn, and to lean on the everlasting arms of our Savior.

We are here today to talk about faith, that invisible force that moves mountains, that unseen hand that guides us through the stormy seas of life. It is our faith that gives us the courage to step into the unknown, to face our fears, and to hold on to hope even when the world around us crumbles.

As we open our Bibles to 2 Corinthians 5:7, let us read together: "For we live by faith, not by sight." These words, written by the Apostle Paul, remind us that our faith is not based on what we can see or touch, but on the unfailing promises of God.

John Stott once said, "Faith is a reasoning trust, a trust which reckons thoughtfully and confidently upon the trustworthiness of God." This is the kind of faith we are called to have. A faith that trusts in God's trustworthiness. A faith that goes beyond boundaries. A faith that is not swayed by what we see, but stands firm on the promises of God.

Today, we will look at three main points: Believing Beyond Boundaries, the Basis of Belief, and Becoming Bold in Faith. As we navigate through these points, may we open our hearts and minds to the lessons God wants to teach us.

Believing Beyond Boundaries

In the realm of faith, there are no boundaries. It's a truth that can be hard to grasp, especially when we're so used to living in a world defined by limits and restrictions. Yet, the essence of faith is the ability to believe in what we cannot see, to trust in what we cannot touch, and to hope for what seems impossible.

Our faith is not confined by the physical world. It's not limited by our circumstances or our understanding. It's not bound by our fears or our doubts. Our faith, instead, is anchored in the unchanging, unfailing love of God. It's grounded in His promises, His power, and His presence.

The Bible tells us that with God, all things are possible. That's a statement without boundaries. It doesn't say some things are possible, or many things are possible. It says all things are possible. That's the kind of limitless belief we're called to have.

When we look at the life of Abraham, we see a man who believed beyond boundaries. God promised him that he would be the father of many nations, even though he was old and his wife Sarah was barren. Despite the impossibility of the situation, Abraham chose to believe in God's promise. He chose to trust in God's power. He chose to hope in God's plan. His faith was not bound by his circumstances, but was anchored in God's word.

Our faith is also meant to be active, not passive. It's not just about believing in God, but also about acting on that belief. When God told Noah to build an ark because a great flood was coming, Noah didn't just believe God; he acted on that belief. He started building the ark, even though there was no sign of rain. His faith was not just in his heart, but also in his hands. He believed beyond boundaries, and he acted beyond boundaries.

Our faith should also be persistent, not fleeting. The Canaanite woman in Matthew 15 is a great example of this. Even though Jesus initially ignored her plea for her daughter's healing, she didn't give up. She persisted in her faith, and because of her great faith, her daughter was healed. Her faith was not deterred by Jesus' silence, but was fueled by her desperation and her belief in Jesus' power.

Lastly, our faith should be courageous, not timid. When David faced Goliath, he didn't cower in fear. He stood up to the giant with faith and courage. He didn't focus on the size of the giant, but on the size of his God. His faith was not intimidated by Goliath's threats, but was empowered by God's promise.

In each of these examples, we see faith that believes beyond boundaries. It's a faith that trusts in God's promises, acts on God's instructions, persists in God's silence, and courageously faces life's giants. This is the kind of faith we're called to have. A faith that is not bound by what we see, but is anchored in who God is. A faith that is not limited by our understanding, but is grounded in God's word. A faith that is not confined by our circumstances, but is fueled by God's love. A faith that believes beyond boundaries.
