Wake Up and Get Dressed!

Sermon By: Evangelist Robert Osborne

Romans 13:11-14

11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Some people when the preacher gets up to preach, it is their queue to go to sleep. Most churches now days when you step into them they are spiritually dead and it seems like you walk in to the Morgue. I like to call those churches The First Church of the Chosen Frozen. I believe it is time to wake up and get dressed, time to put on our spiritual garment, out Soldiers Armour and Lets get ready to fight every single battle and trial that Satan brings towards us. Not only fight but win because”we are MORE than CONQURES through Christ who strengthens us. “

God’s alarm clock is sounding "wake up" it is no longer time to sleep. His clock doesn’t have a snooze button. In the morning when the clock goes off sometimes we hit that snooze button and snooze on. In the spirit we get woke up for a little bit and by the time the spirit of God gets moving and people are shouting and dancing in the Holy Ghost we decide to conservative and we say well I don’t feel like praising God I am to tired and then we cut him off we hit the our snooze button. I think it is time we start having church and forget about the time and let the Glory move on.

Sleep- is the state of inactivity with loss of consciousness and a decrease in responsiveness’ to the events around you.

I believe that the church is in a deep sleep and don’t know what is going on around them. The time is at hand for the coming of our Lord Jesus and here we are sitting and being quiet. If the people at football , baseball and basket ball games can scream for there favorite player or there hero the Praise God I am going to Scream for my Hero The Lord Jesus Christ. Its time we get out of a deep sleep and start doing our job for God.

Apathy- is when you don’t care what is going on in the world, church, or spiritually.

If you have this attitude then you have Sleep Apathy.

“I am saved and I don’t have to do anything to get to heaven!”

You are spiritually asleep. You can be spiritually asleep and saved just as you can be asleep at night and still alive. The bible says to Watch for Christ as in:

Mark 13:31-33

31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

What makes you sleepy and not to care?

Is it the Battles, sickness, afflictions, temptations and trials that Satan brings to you? If so the you don’t need to stay asleep and sit on your seat, you need a refreshing in the Holy Ghost.

America needs a great awakening and our churches need a great awakening and maybe some of you need a great awakening.

Sampson fell asleep in Delilah’s lap and lost his power, the church world has fallen asleep in Satan’s lap and lost it’s power by compromising and living like the world. It is so easy to fall asleep in the lap of Satan all you have to do is do nothing, don’t fight back.

Do you have the time? I mean God’s Time?

We don’t have or even know his time of return or our time of departure from this world. There is a poem that goes thins way:

The Clock of Life

The clock of life is wound but once,

And no man has the power to tell just when the hands would stop,

At late or an early hour.

To lose one’s wealth is sad indeed,

To lose one’s health is more,

To lose one’s soul is such a loss that no one can restore.

His return is soon. If Paul preached this almost 2,000 years ago then his return is closer now than ever. We don’t even know the
