WAITING ON OUR GOD

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

1. The people ----- They that wait

Dedication----- Psalms 55:17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. Three times a day the psalmist prayed.

A.Detained -----Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

120 people waited and prayed for ten days . time spent waiting before God in never wasted time.

B.Divine –--- Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Be still and allow the Lord to speak to you.

2. The person ---- upon the Lord

A. Saviour ----- Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Christ speaks divinity. Jesus being equal with God.

B. Lord --- Hebrews 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

While waiting for God we can work out many things In our life.

C. Master --- Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Dedication when he speaks do what he says. Take up your cross

D. King ---- John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him

Discipleship there are numbers of Christians but few disciples

3.The power----Shall renew their strength

Physical strength –Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Strength comes through prayer.

Personal strength –---Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Strength for every need in our life

Powerful strength --- Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

Strength for the inner man.

4. The Promise

Shall mount up as on wings of eagles Victorious overcomers

The persistence Run and not be weary for his work

Promise Walk and not faint go in power of the Holy Ghost

The best pill for us is to wait on the Lord.
