Summary: To be effective we Need to have a Vision. Nehemiah had a Vision to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. He didn’t just think about the Vision… he didn’t just look at the Vision… he didn’t just talk about the Vision…

INTRODUCTION:

Proverbs 29:18 ~ Where there is no vision, the people perish.

VISION: To be a LightHouse to the New Castle area for God reaching out to them through Revival,

Outreach, and God’s Love.

To be effective we Need to have a Vision. Nehemiah had a Vision to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. He

didn’t just think about the Vision… he didn’t just look at the Vision… he didn’t just talk about the

Vision…

He lived the Vision! He thought it… talked about it… prayed about it… did something about it…

persevered in it!!

We NEED to support the Church and It’s Vision by:

I. FINANCIALLY (Tithing and Offerings)

Malachi 3:8-10 ~ “Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me.” But you ask, ‘How do we rob You?’ In

tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse - the whole nation of you - because you are robbing Me?

10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says

the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much

blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”

tithe = a tenth part

II Corinthians 9:7 ~ Each man should give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful

giver.

This includes helping out, whenever possible, with fundraisers by donating $ AND/or time to the

fundraisers – giving in offerings in WM’s, Uth, Sunday School, etc.

II. BEING PART OF THE CHURCH AND IT’S MINISTRIES

Hebrews 10:25 ~ Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let

us encourage one another...

Acts 2:42, 44, 46, 47 ~ They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to the fellowship,

to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common.

46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and

ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And

the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

**Sunday nites, Family nites, WM’s, Men’s Ministries, Youth,

Children’s Ministries’, AND Prayer on Tuesday nites

III. SEEKING GOD

II Chronicles 7:14,15 ~ if my people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and

pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, THEN will I hear from heaven and will forgive

their sin and heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered

in this place.

Hebrews 11:6 ~ And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him

must believe that He exists and He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

GOING HARD AFTER GOD! Not accepting a mediocre relationship with our God

IV. PRAYER

James 5:16b ~ The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

“The prayer of faith is the only power in the universe to which the great Jehovah yields. Prayer is the

sovereign remedy.” Robert Hall

I read a book recently that talks about Wesley or another great evangelist around that time, which had a

man, whose ministry was to go ahead to the next town that the evangelist was going to – to set up a

place to prayer… to intercede for him and the meetings which were about to be held. To continue in

prayer throughout the Revival meetings. There were countless accounts of how God used him in this

ministry, but we don’t ever remember his name even though his ministry was as important, if not more

important, than the evangelist.

Acts 2:42 ~ They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to the fellowship, to the breaking of

bread and to prayer.

PRAYER onTuesday nites!!

CONCLUSION: Acts 2:47b ~ And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

II Chronicles 7:14, 15 ~ THEN will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15

Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
