Summary: There is no retirement in the Christian life. Your calling is active and valuable to the King until your last breath.

If you are still breathing there is time to do great things for God. Not necessary notable things. You may not get applause from your church, your name in the paper or the key to your city, but you can do great things. God's valuation is far different than man's.

Matthew 10:42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

A simple thing to men, but a great thing to the one who gets the water and valuable in God's eyes to assure a reward.

Mark 9:35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

Mark 10:44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

In man's view it is all about the Chief and servants get little attention. God says that humble servant shall be exalted and is Chief in His eyes.

Seek out great things to do for God, but use His value system. Seek to serve, not to rule. Take care of seeming little things for they are considered great in His eyes. Don't worry about fame as it is fleeting. After all, they cried Alleluia when Jesus rode into Jerusalem and crucified Him later in the week. Do what you are called to do humbly for the One who promotes and awards is always watching and keeping notes.

You might ask what are you called to do?

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

In essence, serve God and your fellow man in His power and as He values.

You cannot do this unless you are born-again. Only saved people can do this. All others can only do dead works and are as Cain offering up what they deem valuable how they deem acceptable to do it and will be disappointed. Abel understood what God wanted and how to do it. Don't kill yourself and others with dead works, but take up His yoke.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Go out and be great today remembering

Zechariah 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Make it so, Lord! Amen! Maranatha!!
