Summary: What we need todo to win
V-I-C-T-O-R-Y IN JESUS
1Cor.15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
What it takes to attain victory in our Lord Jesus. Lets look at victory.
1.V-igilant
1st Peter 5:8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Christ was vigilant
He knew Satan’s strategy
Mark 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
We must always be alert
Satan’s distractions, deceptions, and discouragements
2.I-nvolved
2nd Cor.6:1We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
Jesus was busy doing his fathers work.
Helping the needed
Healing the sick
Saving the lost
To follow his example Christians must be involved
Helping others And winning Lost
3. C-ourageous
Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Christ rebuked wrongdoers
He faced those who accused, abused and crucified him
We must be courageously stand for him.
We must be his witness.
4.T-hankful
1st Thess.5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Jesus never complained
His life was a life of thankfulness
John 17:4I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
We need to be thankful for what Christ has done for us.
His great sacrifice and his Salvation
Thank him for the victory
5.O-optimistic
Col. 1.27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Christ was never pessimistic
He brought hope to all man kind
We also must be optimistic
Our hope is in Christ
He’s the one who never fails
6.R-eliable
Matt.24:35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Jesus was always dependable
He never failed any one who came to him.
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
We should be trustworthy
Our work our walk and our words should testify we are reliable.
Y-ielded
Heb. 10:9Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
Christ prayed
Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
If we are going to have victory we must be yielded to Gods will.
Remember his will is always best for us.
