Use Your Weapon

I believe some of us will be wondering why we need to use a weapon when we are not a soldier. But we need to remember that we are soldiers in christ.

2 Corinth 10:4 says:

"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds"

I realised that in the world we are in today you don't even have to be a Christian before you have enemies.You don't also need to fight someone or know them before you become their enemies. Some people are either envious or jealous of you because of who you are.Or People just dislike you because of your personality, Good job, Position,wealth, cars good look, family, or even talents. This shows that naturally we are already facing a battle.

To make this more interesting, the moment you give your life to jesus you are not just saying " yes Lord" you are literarily saying let the battle begin. The devil you left behind will fight hard to get you back.

That is why the bible says in John 1:12, That God has given you power to be called the sons of God the moment you believe him, the moment you receive Jesus as your Lord and saviour. You have been given this power to fight, to win and to be victorious as a child of God.

1 Peter 5:8 advised us to be alert and guard our loins as the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

The devil will not come to us with two horns in his head as a person, but he will use his agents as tools to kill, to steal and to destroy. He can attack you with, illness, poverty, joblessness, marital turbulence, wayward children, homelessness and even plant people around you that will trouble your life. He can use your boss, your husband, wife, partners, neighbours, strangers, family members, colleagues, church members, etc against you. That is why we need to be very careful how we react in this situations.

The battle we are in today is not the battle of physical confrontation but a spiritual warfare that requires spiritual weapon.

Ephes 6 :12 says: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places".

SOME OF THE WEAPON WE NEED TO USE ARE:

1) Brokenness: this means to please God (prov 16:7) . I believe once you make peace with your enemy you have won the battle. How do you fancy working in a peaceful environment, leaving with peaceful neighbours and even dinning peacefully with your family. It creates a welcoming environment free of trouble. When the environment is not peaceful it creates hindrances to prayers and delays in miracles and breakthroughs.

Do you know that when you hold grudges against someone you are literally causing hindrances to your prayers.We need to make peace with all men as commanded by God. Even if is just to smile at someone you don't get on well With, it makes a lot of difference. And you will win the battle.

2) Praise and worship is another powerful weapon. (2nd Chron 20:21-23)

3) The word of our Testimony is another powerful weapon. (Rev 12:11)

4) The word of God is a powerful weapon:

(Mathew 4:4-11).

Using the word of God by reminding the enemy that "IT IS WRITTEN........", followed by the verse, just as it was used by the Lord Jesus Christ, is a powerful weapon.

5) Prayer is a powerful weapon. (Phil 4:6). The Bible urges us to pray without ceasing.

6) The blood of Jesus is another powerful weapon. (Rev 12:11).

7) The name of Jesus is a very powerful weapon. (Phil 2:10). The name of Jesus breaks every stronghold and evil chains.

8) The Fire of God:

Heb 12:29 says:"our God is a consuming fire".

Elijah used this weapon to destroy his enemies according to 2 King 1-10.

To be entitle to these weapons you need to give your life to jesus today and receive the power of an Overcomer. Please confess your sins to God and say this prayer if you have not done so before.
