John 4:31-38

Verse 31-34-In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”

But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.”

Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?”

Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work

They could see weariness of Jesus, they could see the physical need that He had, but they could not see, that the spiritual fulfillment that only the work of God can fulfill.

They did not realize the spiritual satisfaction of doing God’s work can and does meet the physical needs of this old earthy body!

Isaiah 40:31-But those who wait on the Lord

Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

This doing the will of God (But He needed to go through Samaria) this winning this woman into the kingdom of God would refresh Him, energize Him and give strength to continue His journey…“My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

Verse 35-Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

Questions

Is every seed important to you, for it survive, grow and develop?

Every seed that is planted in a womb is important to God!

Every person is important to God and He wants to see them to grow and develop to their full potential!

Do all watermelons get ripe at the same time?

Not every person is ready to accept Christ at the same stage of life…Some come to Him early in their life, some come to Him late in their life.

So we must be ready to witness, share, or testify at any given moment.

We must realize that at any moment someone could come to Christ.

You may have talked to them before, but something has happen in their life and now they are willing to listen to what you have to say.

If the watermelons are getting ready, what happens if you wait to long before you pick them?

If we are not ready and available to take advantage of the opportunity for them to hear the gospel…Oh, what a lost!

Now the opportunity may rise again but they have lost time they could have been living for the Lord.

We know how that feels, to know you have wasted so many years before you came to Christ.

We must feel the urgency of the harvest that is before us!!

Verse 36-38-And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’

I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

Bubba-I witness to him, the preacher witness to him and he accepted Christ.

The old man-I witness to him several times, and a lady in the apartment complex witness to him and accepted Christ.

Levy-I witness to him several times and on his death bed he accepted Christ.

Other I have witness to and they asked Christ to save them.

There have been times I have been the sower, then there have been the times I have been the reaper, then there have been times sower and reaper!
