A sermon exploring the profound mystery of the Holy Communion, accompanied by prayer points aimed at healing.
A sermon on the mystery of Holy Communion with added prayer points for healing.
"For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.' For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes" (1 Corinthians 11:23-26, NIV).
The Communion table is not just a religious snack. It is one of the important ministries of the New Testament. It is a commemorative ordinance, a memorial of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. It is a feast of fellowship between believers and the Savior, where they receive Christ and His benefits by faith, being nourished with His life unto eternal life.
The ultimate purpose of the Communion is for us to live like Jesus. It creates fellowship among believers and unites them into one body, the church.
In John 6:48-54, Jesus says that He is the bread of life and whoever eats of this bread will live forever. By taking communion, we partake in the divine life of Jesus.
The ministry of the communion table ministers to our entire being - body, soul, and spirit. The blood of Jesus cleanses our conscience from every evil work. It purifies our body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. May your whole being - spirit, soul, and body - be kept blameless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In Luke 24:30-32, when Jesus broke bread with His disciples, their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him. Their hearts burned within them as He opened the Scriptures to them. The communion has the power to remove any mental blockage and bring clarity and understanding.
In 2 Kings 4:40-41, Elisha used flour to neutralize the poison in a pot of stew. Similarly, the communion is prescribed to neutralize any poison in our system.
The communion is also prescribed for health, strength, and longevity. In 1 Corinthians 11:30, it is mentioned that some were weak and sick because they did not discern the body of Christ during communion. By partaking in the communion, we proclaim the Lord's death and receive healing.
The blood of Jesus brings life and healing. Leviticus 17:11 states that the life of the flesh is in the blood, and it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul. Isaiah 53:5 says that Jesus was wounded for our transgressions and by His stripes, we are healed.
Romans 8:10-11 assures us that if Christ is in us, our bodies may be dead because of sin, but our spirits are alive because of righteousness. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, will also give life to our mortal bodies through His Spirit living in us.
Romans 8:1-2 declares that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Through Christ, the law of the Spirit of life sets us free from the law of sin and death.
Through the blood of Jesus, every dead organ in our bodies can receive life. Every ancestral curse limiting our bodies can be lifted. Let the blood of Jesus quicken the body of Christ worldwide.
The blood of Jesus has the power to raise the dead, make the lame walk, the blind see, the deaf hear, and the mute speak. It can heal internal organs, skin diseases, and even heal the mind.
In Matthew 8:16-17, people were brought to Jesus at night, and He healed them. In Matthew 12:9-13, a man with a withered hand was restored on the Sabbath.
The blood of Jesus is available to heal any sickness or infirmity. By praying and declaring the power of the blood of Jesus, we can receive healing in our bodies.
May the power of the blood of Jesus bring healing and restoration to your body. Amen!
