The soul of a man, encompassing his intellect, will, and emotions, is self-aware. This sermon explores the concept of Christian Liberty in freeing the 'caged' soul.

Introduction

The Captivity and Deliverance of the Soul

The soul of a person is the seat of their intellect, will, and emotions. It is the self-conscious part of their being. According to the Scriptures, humans are made up of a soul, a spirit, and a body. God desires for every aspect of our being to prosper, especially our soul, which is the spiritual part of our life. However, the enemy seeks to attack and imprison our souls, leaving us weakened and unfulfilled. In this life-changing message, we will explore how to identify a caged soul and how to experience deliverance and prosperity.

Scripture Passage

Ezekiel 13:18-20 (NIV)

"This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the women who sew magic charms on all their wrists and make veils of various lengths for their heads in order to ensnare people's lives. Will you ensnare the lives of my people but preserve your own? You have profaned me among my people for a few handfuls of barley and scraps of bread. By lying to my people, who listen to lies, you have killed those who should not have died and have spared those who should not live."

The Three Parts of Man

God fearfully and wonderfully created man in three stages. First, He formed man from dust, molding and shaping him. This reminds us that we are made from ordinary dust and should not boast or exalt ourselves. Second, God breathed the breath of life into man's nostrils, creating his spirit which resides in his blood. Lastly, man became a living soul, a distinct individual with intellect, will, and emotions.

The Captivity of the Soul

When the body is caged, it becomes limited and unable to fulfill its desires. Similarly, when the spirit-man is caged, it means it is possessed and controlled by demonic spirits. These dark powers dictate the actions and decisions of the spirit-man. Witches, wizards, and familiar spirits are examples of individuals who are possessed and controlled by these demonic forces. They can even summon a person's spirit out of their body, leading to experiences that some may perceive as dreams but are actual happenings in the spirit realm.

Symptoms of a Caged Soul

1. Talking in one's sleep, as if engaged in a conversation.

2. Feeling relegated and overlooked despite deserving a higher position.

3. Resisting surrendering one's life to the Lord Jesus Christ.

4. Feeling disconnected from the presence of the Holy Spirit.

5. Dreaming of being lost, unable to find one's way home or feeling trapped in a market or forest.

6. Seeing slow animals like tortoises or snakes in dreams.

7. Experiencing a double personality, being unpredictable in reactions.

8. Feeling lifeless and drained of energy.

9. Struggling to detach from past relationships.

10. Difficulty concentrating and focusing.

11. Dreaming of having a twin substitute.

12. Hearing strange voices.

Steps to Deliverance

1. Surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ if you are not yet born again.

2. Pray deliverance prayers for the mind.

3. Arrest the soul traders, the demonic forces that capture souls.

4. Gather all the fragmented parts of your soul that have been scattered by these powers.

5. Seek God for total restoration of your spirit, soul, and body.

Conclusion

The soul is a vital aspect of our existence, and God desires for it to prosper. However, there are wicked spirits that seek to capture and imprison our souls. By surrendering our lives to Jesus Christ and engaging in deliverance prayers, we can break free from the captivity of our souls and experience true prosperity. Let us take authority over these soul captors and reclaim our spiritual freedom in the name of Jesus Christ.
