Unity In The Church

REASONS OF UNITY:

1. We are called to be one in Christ. V4-6

2. Mark/ Sign of maturity.

3. To accomplish the calling.

4. The Body of Christ may be built up

ATTAINING UNITY:

1. Complete humility.

a. Romans 12:16 – Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

2. Bearing with one another in love.

3. Put off the old self, put on the new self.

4. New attitude .

a. Created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

5. Put off falsehood and speak truthfully.

a. Do not let unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up. V29

6. Forgive one another.

a. Getting rid of all bitterness and anger. V31

b. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as in Christ God forgave you.

7. Be a blessing to one another.

a. V28 –anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.

b. Being Generous.

c. Romans 12:13 – Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

CONCLUSION:

• To be united is a command from God.

• Make every effort to keep the unity among us.

• Do something.

• Romans 12:21 – Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
