Our text explores the multifaceted grace of God, detailing how it brings salvation, instructs us in righteous living, and instills hope.

Introduction

The story begins with preacher Dwight L. Moody, who dedicated himself to studying the topic of grace. After three days of intense study, Moody was so filled with the subject that he couldn't contain himself and went out to share it with a stranger on the street. This encounter highlights the importance of understanding and experiencing the grace of God in our lives.

I. The Grace of God Brings Salvation (Titus 2:11)

The grace of God is the unmerited favor He extends to us. It is through His grace that we are saved from our sins and reconciled with Him. Ephesians 1:7 reminds us that in Jesus, we have redemption and forgiveness of sins according to the riches of God's grace.

II. The Grace of God Teaches How to Live (Titus 2:12)

God's grace not only saves us but also instructs us on how to live. It empowers us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, enabling us to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives. We should heed the teachings of God's grace found in Scripture, which guide us away from sinful behaviors and towards righteousness.

III. The Grace of God Gives Hope (Titus 2:13-14)

As believers, we eagerly await the blessed hope of Jesus Christ's glorious return. This hope sustains us in this present age, reminding us that Jesus gave Himself for us to redeem us from wickedness and purify us as His own people. Our hope lies not in worldly pursuits or material wealth but in the eternal life offered through faith in Christ.

Conclusion

John Newton, the author of the hymn "Amazing Grace," understood the significance of God's grace. He recognized his own sinfulness and the sufficiency of Jesus Christ as a Savior. Similarly, we must acknowledge our need for God's grace and embrace Jesus as our all-sufficient Savior.

The grace of God brings salvation, teaches us how to live, and gives us hope. It is through His grace that we are saved, transformed, and sustained in this life. Let us fully embrace and live in the grace of God, allowing it to shape our thoughts, actions, and eternal perspective.
